Nostalgia bump pt 2…
Today starts February reminiscing. I loved all of Feb 2010. Lots of great shows and I was really still listening to UM pretty obsessively at that time.

Yet another ‘20 (21) years ago today’ post, and another phenomenal early show. This one was really killer & was a great follow up to the Barrymore show 2 nights earlier. That 2 show experience def helped propel me into a huge UM fan, & made me decide to start putting the effort forth to see them as often as I could manage around my work schedule. Between Madison, MKE & Chicago, there was hardly ever a time where I couldn’t see them fairly easily with a 6-8 week stretch of time, and typically a few times in a weekend. Made for a lot of tired mornings at work, but was too easy when shows were either in town here, or within 60-90 minute drive. Also, tix were nice & cheap.

This one was my 200th show, as well as Stupac’s. That was def a relatively odd coincidence when I found that out a few weeks before the show. We had a good chuckle about it & spent some time outside together at setbreak prepping for set 2. Good times, and some unique/solid material in this show.

Best show
Fuck yeah, going to have to listen to the one today. The next night from the Orpheum is a super super fun show too. Got a little too drunk before the show and had to sit down for awhile but I bounced back strong as soon as they came on stage and had an absolute blast in the balcony.
FF is music to realign your shakra to
That 2/9/13 Tribute is one of the most unique and subtle, beautiful jams they have done.
A good contrast from the madness that is the beginning of Tribute, too.
Is this the show you played me on the way to Minny?
Yep
Hell yeah that was
Y’all listen to UM on the way to UM?
One of my friends from my college touring days would never let us listen to Umphrey’s on the way to a show for fear we’d hear a superior version of a song we might hear that night. Kind of stuck with that going forward but I’m not going to knock someone else’s jam. I listen to a ton of Umphrey’s.
