Super solid show, top to bottom. Had such a blast at this one. I’m very grateful to have seen as many shows this year as I did. I saw even more in ‘07, but I caught some serious gems in ‘06. What a great time to be a dedicated fanatic of this band.
I really miss IVOY being a fairly regular occurrence.
16th anniversary bump!
That was a great show, we literally got there just in time to grab a beer prior to Bridgeless…that drive from ATL the night before was probably one of the worst legs of ter I’ve ever done. Stupid long drive!
This day will be a song name

with No Quarter (Led Zeppelin) tease before In Violation of Yes
with Four Sticks (Led Zeppelin) jam after Billie Jean
with You Really Got Me (Van Halen) tease before NopenerThis show is stacked! What an amazing night this was. I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t heard it, give it a spin. Right off the bat they throw a really unique, albeit relatively short jam into the HBB & the show just crushes from there on. I really miss those days of loose, fun UM shows.
19 year anniversary bump…what a great night to be an Umphrey’s fan!!
So much fun
Thats an outrageous In Violation of Yes
CarpetCrawler:Beginning of a great 3 night run. Despite the next 2 nights being so stacked, this show is great in its own right. The Wally & Bottom Half in the 1st set are killer, then the Plunger/SF1/Plunger & MFF are outstanding. I feel very fortunate to have seen this run. Shows just kept getting better also. Great times & great memories!!

THE ORBIT ROOM, GRAND RAPIDS, MI, USASet 1: Roulette, The Crooked One > Higgins, Uncle Wally > 2nd Self, The Bottom Half
Set 2: Plunger > Soul Food I > Plunger, Making Flippy Floppy > Eat > White Man’s Moccasins > Eat, Push the Pig
Encore: Hurt Bird Bath
Yet another obligatory show bump…
Does not seems like these fall ‘07 shows were 15 years ago at this point. What a great time to be a full on um spaz….
The Orbit Room was such a shitty venue but the two Umphreys shows I caught there (2007/2009) were pretty pretty good!
CarpetCrawler:This Columbus show is a monster, but being that it’s seated right between the Grand Rapids & Ann Arbor shows, it has never been my go to of the run. The 1st set is huge, with the always beautiful EOTR to open, into a giant DBK that clocks In well over 30+ mns with a Haji sandwiched in it. Then the return of Wappy was a very special moment for sure. Set 2 has some great stuff as well, but this show has always been about that 1st set, IMHO. This show was really great to be in attendance for, but for me it always gets overshadowed by the next night. Really glad we made the effort, as we knew quite a few people who skipped the long out of the way drive, and just stayed in Michigan between the GR & Ann Arbor shows.

last Wappy Sprayberry 04.25.2003 (632 shows)Yet another anniversary bump. Truly great memories of this run.
Another 15 year anniversary bump!!
I don’t remember a ton from this show, aside from the wappy rework debut.
But I’m certainly celebrating the 15 year anniversary of my buddy shitting his pants after the show!
Haha…yeah, that’s gotta be memorable.
It’s a good one.
I pulled off on the side of the road outside of Columbus so we could take a piss. Buddy was tripping on L and got spooked because someone was coming, so he shit himself. Then he pulled off his boxers, wiped his ass, and left them on the road.
Hahahah what.
Like he was spooked of another car coming and then shit himself?
May have been my fault. About the same time that the lady whose lawn they were pissing on came out, I was also being a dick in the drivers seat acting like I was driving off, then a dog started barking. Those things all at once was too much for his L-addled sphincter
CarpetCrawler:This 3rd day/night of the 11-29 through 12-1 run was a truly special way to top off 2007. The NYE run had some good stuff for sure, but these 2 shows in Ann Arbor were super fun. The Border’s set was wild, as we had walked in expecting an all acoustic set, being that it was in a bookstore. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the amps & Pony’s bass. That was so much fun, but was only the start of the amazing day/night. The show that night was top tier for sure. A very special evening, which I will always remember very fondly!

[4] with Carol of the Bells (Mykola Leontovych) jam and Greensleeves (trad) teasesAnniversary bump for the amazing 3rd night of this run. For a personal little side note, I talked our show neighbors into crashing in our hotel room instead of driving back to Niles that night, and have had a friend ever since. They had recently had a baby, and were on their 1st night away from their daughter. They were very intent on getting back to Niles, to relieve the grandparent who was watching her, as well as just wanting to be back with the kid. Those roads were way too treacherous, so they turned around as soon as they got to the freeway & ended up taking me up on the offer. I feel like we may have forged a decent type of friendship regardless, but that definitely solidified it.
Final portion of the 15 year anniversary bump trilogy. I’m so grateful for the fond memories of this little run of shows.
CarpetCrawler:Today marks the 19 year anniversary of my 1st true UM show. I had seen them a few times before, but those shows were never my focus, being that they were an opening spot for my buddy’s band & then 2 post Phish show sets at Dead Creek campground. This show was the 1st time I ‘went to see’ UM, and it permanently changed my concert going life for good. From the 1st notes of Spinal Shaft, I was floored & never looked back.

Pretty wild that it’s now been 20 f’n years since the day my true UM infatuation started. Granted, it has absolutely waned at times, but I still love the band in general & don’t see myself completely leaving them in the rear view anytime soon. I rarely listen to new shows these days, but still love going to see them whenever they’re in the MKE & Madison area. The friends I’ve made over the years, thanks to my love for live music & seeing bands like Phish, UM, Biscuits & Panic, is the most incredible additional aspect of these years.
Cheers to all you folks!!
Edit: I’ve gotta add that it was certainly the performance of some of the UM originals that really pushed me over the edge at this show, but also the cover choices. They kinda hit on nearly all my musical passions at that point in my life, with Sabbath, Allman Bros, Beatles & the Regulate. But to add in Waiting Room just completely floored me. So much Fugazi in my teenage skateboarding days.
21st anniversary of my fateful night.

My first time seeing Umphrey’s was Langerado 2006, so this was my first full show and what really got me hooked. The whole show was nonstop. Would love to see that many >'s again lol
Is 12.1 up there for one of the greatest days in Umphrey’s history?
CarpetCrawler:Really killer show here. As much as I hate The Rave/Eagles, I’ve seen some really amazing UM shows in that building. I have some very fond memories of seeing the band in this venue back the early years.
