Today in Umphrey's McGee History

What an awesome show and fun run. Have they played a songlist show since?

The following year I believe they did a two night run of song list shows at the same venue. Probably not since

It was only the 2nd night that was a songlist show

Set 2: Miss Tinkle’s Overture[2], Miami Virtue > Walletsworth, Let’s Dance, Day Nurse, Conduit, Drums[3] > 1348 > The Floor

Encore: Prowler > 1348

My first UM show! Smell The Mitten was a huge highlight, as was this smokin’ Miami Virtue. The IC was particularly strong also. And Nemo > Deeper > Nemo was a fun segment!

It’s standard, but I feel the Bayliss solo in this Prowler is particularly good.

This show is old enough to buy beer and weed now :clinking_beer_mugs:

Going to put that 03/26/2005 show on here now, all time classic for sure.

03/22/2007 also one of my favorites attended.

Go Brewers and happy opening day pham.

Both of those shows are pretty much flawless. I can still feel the end of show vibe of both, but especially that ‘07 show. It was such a huge step up from the previous show in South Bend on St Pat’s. That ‘05 show is such a gem though. I’ll always have great memories of that night.

My 2nd show. Remember being so amped when AIT started. Roulette is an all timer, among many other highlights.

Although not nearly as good as the first night, this one was still a great time. I don’t think you could pick a better acoustic segment song wise.

4/3/08 is a straight-up banger.

Happy 17th (!!) birthday to the best UM show I’ve seen in person. Roulette, Alex’s, and Phil’s all standouts but a very good show overall. No Mantis songs till the encore had people creaming their jeans on bort 2.0.

I”ll say it was the best show of the 110-ish that I’ve seen

Seems like 4/3 is a fam day for Borters

@Serac !
Curious his thoughts.

I remember the sort of visually textured brick sidewalks on Church St were swimming after me and crew walked back to the car

We’re very lucky to have caught one of the GOATs! It’s my #1 but there’s others snuggled in close. Beka and I were posted up in front of Bayliss all night for this one. Rarely get that high from seeing shows anymore but it’s the most welcome feeling ever!

I can’t remember if I ran into you this night but I have a very fond memory of you and I getting down at a different Peel show for one of the OG Night Nurse jams in Fir. It just wouldn’t end. Classic dance party and lots of room in there.

As @3x40oz said, the next year was also damn good.

Those 10:15 starts look mighty appealing now for a Dad with a bed time routine, huh? :winking_face_with_tongue:
