17 year bump for my second “show”. I was in college and first saw them a month earlier at Langerado while on spring break and was hooked. Hopped on a train solo from New Rochelle, and walked around for a bit after the set. I miss living in NY sometimes lol

Wild to think this was already 10 years ago. For sure the best of the 2 UMBowls I was fortunate enough to see.
I’ve skipped over this one for some reason in the past few years of this thread, but this was a very solid show that gets overshadowed by the 4-28 show. I also met one of my (now) best friends at our motel after this one. We had a friend come along with us for these shows & he had a bad reaction to the 2nd serving of m-dog, where he lost time & somehow didn’t remember being inside the show for the opener & 2 full sets of UM. We were outside after the show & he was saying how we should prob go inside so we don’t miss the show. When we got back to the motel we had to let him lie down solo, and we went outside to give him some time alone. That’s when we met my now long time friend.

The 1st show of a really great 3 night run. This was also the 1st time I met @peyotecoyote Mark. Lots of great memories from this run, aside from the fact that I was out there w/my ex ‘wife’ who turned out to be a truly awful person. One of the craziest events of this run was bumping into an old friend in the bathroom line who I first met through Phish in ‘96. He was from Springfield, IL back then and we met in the Philly Spectrum parking lot on my 21st bday. Kept in touch & he would stay w/either myself or my buddy Sean each time he’d come up for Phish or moe. We ended up losing touch due to it being before cell phones and moving/change of phone numbers. Despite the two of us having such similar musical tastes/passions, I never woulda expected to run into him in SF at an UM show like 4 years after we lost touch. He was a long time member of the OG bort who went by captain and bearsong. Still keep in touch with him & see him every once in awhile. He’s in the Seattle area these days & has an amazing wife with 2 kids.

**Show Notes:**with Hot for Teacher (Van Halen) tease before 40’s Theme
This night was absolute bliss. IMO, it’s easily the best of the 3, but each night has its strengths for sure. The 1st set is just so f’n dialed in it’s ridiculous. The energy is just relentless. ETI > DBK just burns the place down at the end. The 2nd set is a serious party as well, but there is just ~something~ about this 1st set. I do know that the band, or at very least BB, were given margaritas with a special ingredient that seems to have added an extra gear. BB even makes a comment in night 3 about the cocktail…
