It was a steamy night in the ol’ HBCB but I’ll always have a soft spot for this DBK. About a 45 minute segment w/ the 13 Days sandwich, this is when I started to really be in full on UMfanboy mode. 1st certainly doesn’t hurt either.

We got down to the venue from MKE @ like 7:30, and the band didn’t hit the stage until around 11:30 or 12:00. We had too much fun, but that many hours before the start was dangerous for sure.

15 years ago today…when Chicago still consistently got some great shows. Hope tonight, and this weekend’s SF sets, bring that tradition back.

This show was such a great time. We hit super shitty traffic through the Chicago area, and just barely made it inside the venue while the intro jam was still going on.
I had a buddy hop in the car at the last second, and he decided to eat a large piece of WOW that his buddy handed him right before he climbed into the backseat. I didn’t think that was a very good idea, but he was a trooper. When we hit the 90 minute traffic delay, he was less than comfy lying across the backseat while I cranked Ween on the ride… …once we arrived, he then decided to lie down in the grass for almost the entire 1st set. He was able to gather himself for the 2nd set at least.

These shows were so damn fun, 16 year ago today & tomorrow. I’m so grateful that I got to see them play that place a few times. I’ll always remember my shock at the fact that UM was playing that spot the first time I was there in ‘02. That was such a fun venue, but they’ve obviously outgrown it by too much to ever go back.

One of the best Dump City’s I have seen. Pretty atypical jam for that song. Not necessairly atypical for the band. Super melodic.
Can’t believe this one is now 19 years ago bump!!
That was a real fun 3 night run. I ate some L at this one and again the following night at the Canopy Club and had a blast.
