Pi Day is home to a pretty solid Seattle show

March 14, 2013Umphrey’s McGeeNeptuneSeattle, WA,USA

Set 1: Catshot > The Linear > Domino Theory, Liberty Echo > Water, Booth Love > Professor Wormbog, August

Set 2: The Bottom Half > Get In The Van, Cherub Rock, Utopian Fir > Rainbow Country > Andy’s Last Beer, Cemetery Walk II

Encore: Eat > Dear Prudence

**Show Notes:**last Rainbow Country 2008-10-24(505 shows)

This Linear didn’t made the HOF ‘13 compilation, which is unfortunate considering this is one of the all time great versions…beautiful jam! I remember being shocked at Linesr being played because they had only played it 3 shows prior in SLC and I figured I missed out on seeing a Linesr…glad I was wrong! The Fir is outstanding as well with some great jamming here. And the CW2 to close out the 2nd set is an excellent dance party.

As a side note, if you listen closely between BB’s post-Domino Theory banter and Liberty Echo, you’ll hear a faint “FUCK YEAH” in the crowd noise.
That would be me. Kris Myers also gave a drumstick after that show, which i still have. Another great night with @sabretooth, @thefussyasianman and @derblutenkat and his non-borter best friend. I hung out with @Womenwineandpoly83 for most of that show. I’ll never forget the pre-show Bort meetup when @sabretooth called me an asshole for not eating my pizza crust

Great memories from that night

I’ve never listened, why was it such a dud? Letdown after the preceding run combined with SBC hype? No booze like Muncie? Setlist looks ok.

First set was a complete snooze fest. Only improv was a short jam in Nemo.
The AIT bass solo > American the Beautiful was waaaay too long and boring, it was just Stasik
Could only have drinks in the foyer, not in the seating area IIRC
Was excited to see Adrian Belew, but by this time in the run, you knew what they were going to play (Thela at EVERY show).

Also, That was like the 4th or 5th time I had seen I Want You (She’s So Heavy) in a little over a year. I was done w that cover.

EDIT: I Want you was 3 times in 4 months, this was the 2nd time I saw it
