Show is still in my top 5 seen. The Fir outro jam is so unique, light island Calypso vibes on a cold and snowy night in Iowa. Best part was that they saved the best for last with that phenomenal set-ending Crooked1 jam.
That Fuzz jam is one of the most beautiful and patient UM jams and it’s only five mins long or so.
It’s one of my all time favorites, glad to see it get some love.

17 year anniversary bump!
Totally spaced about the 11 year anniversary of Barrymore/first Ave run
Yeah, I always forget to bump that run as well. That weekend was a dangerous amount of fun. The Barrymore were some seriously great times, but then the First Ave shows were for my good buddy’s bachelor party. Things got a little out of hand, on the party side of things. I was not being good to my body at all in those days. Lucky to be alive’d…
17 years ago was n1 of my first UM SE run which ran through Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham, Athens and Atlanta. Did the run with a complete stranger @Tottengus who turned out to be a pretty alright guy!
Phenomenal run filled with a ton of highlights.
Great run Dan. A lot of good memories and music. I think it’s the only time I’ve done 5 shows, 5 days, 5 different cities. The DBK sandwich from Nashville is one for the ages. My first divisions and only Bell bottom blues too.
Going to have to dig up the cds or go to the archive to revisit Athens and Birmingham since they aren’t up on nugs. Knoxville was a helluva show. Have to post about it tomorrow. 17 years!

So much fun. Band got drunk as hell with bayliss and stasik wrestling. Extended 2nd Self, stand-alone REW, 3 cover second set, front porch all highlights. Love it when jake does the channeling in Padgett’s too. Also they extend the end of snucka like 10 times. Lots of great banter throughout. Awesome show.
Too much umphrey’s talk. Back to this being a goose board.

March 9, 2019Umphrey’s McGeeShowbox SoDo — Seattle, WA, USA
Set 1: Glory > Rocker Part 2, Sociable Jimmy > Conduit > Nothing Too Fancy[1] > Make It Right, Live and Let Die[2]

[4] with Nate Werth on percussion, Vaughn Henry on keyboards, and Sylvester Onyejiaka on saxophone
[5] with Roundabout (Yes) tease in intro
First set, outside of Sociable and Conduit, was pretty standard. The second set, though, is a completely different animal. Junky Booth Intentions is what I coined it at the time.
Ran into @sabretooth and @wsumcgee there - always great to see them! A first set highlight was this girl in a Pat Benetar headband who was completely wasted, rolled past me to get near the rail, banged her head and smashed her nose into the guy in front of her. Pretty sure she broke it with all the blood she lost!
I remember BSing with a non-Borter at setbreak and I predicted a Draconian opener for the 2nd set. Sure enough, they opened with it! I really loved that 2nd set!
Pretty sure you could’ve legally made him your butler after that.
Lol maybe. He was around my age and it was his first UM show. He’s seen Phish a million times though
Saw two fights go down at this show…the crowd was weird that night. That was my second time at the Depot, first was in 2010…1.20.10 iirc. Killer 40s Theme!
