Feel like the 3rd night of this awesome little run needs a bump as well, even though it’s certainly the least amazing of the trio of shows. There were some great moments for sure, but the bar was set far too high by Madison & Urbana. This was my one and only Last Train Home though, so that was a very special end to the evening.

Set 1: Professor Wormbog, Plunger > Passing> Plunger, JaJunk > Wife Soup > JaJunk, Great American[1], Black Water[2]

10 year anniversary of my first show ever. If anyone was there I was the 19 year old who passed out sometime around Room to Breathe in the first set because it was so hot and I had beer for dinner.

Don’t remember you passing out, but I love that show

I really enjoy this show. Pretty indicative of 2011 as a whole, two big jams (really nice 2 jam reso and GOAT Wappy) and then just an otherwise decent setlist with a cool acoustic segment.

09.21.2001 was a really fun show.

That Wappy is so fucking good. Thought it was attendance bias but it still holds up big time. I really enjoyed that show, hard to not like that song selection, and an awesome acoustic segment there. That NE run in 2011 was the shit, very fond memories of those shows.

I don’t remember that, but it’s a pretty fitting way to UM for your 1st time haha. I need to relisten to this show again… was this the crazy out there Dump or was that a different year?

I think that Dump City was 10/16/13

This was a really solid show, and the 1st time there was a 2 night UM stand @ the Barrymore. These shows get lost in the mix a bit, when it comes to the great Madison shows over the years, but they’re both very high quality shows, IMHO. I only had one complaint…I couldn’t believe they had Ray White sit in, but no Zappa cover. :man_shrugging:

Anyways, 16 years ago tonight…

Yearly obligatory fluff. Still have such vivid memories of these 2 shows. The HOB is still my only time catching a Hey 19…sure do hope that changes soon. It’s going on 20 years now, which is a crime.

Holy shit! I could just be forgetting it, but this may be the first time that I’ve heard this N2F. Fucking love this!

That N2F & the Jajunk make this show legendary, IMHO. Great show all around, but those are the very clear standouts. If you haven’t heard the Jajunk, I’ll be very interested in how you feel about that as well.

:beers:

Loved the Jajunk as well, but I think the N2F is one of my fav versions. Maybe it’s just the fact that I’ve been so down on that song as its played with such little energy these days and can eat up a set. This version reminded just how much energy this song brought.

I think this N2F is one of the UM styles I like best. Kind of hard to described, but has that bouncy feel with a ton of notes from BB/Jake, but without being totally untzy. More uplifting. Ah, glad I checked in on this thread. That listen was a breath of fresh air.

10 years ago today. Such a great show. One of my favorite attended. The haunt stew with lyrics still gives goose bumps. The virtue and AIT both have great jams. Had the pleasure of doing this whole run. Good times.
Told this story on the old bort but the crowd on the third balcony was on point. Guy dressed up as big league chewbacca passing out big league chew. Four people with enjoy coke shirts just getting down. And there was a couple right in front of us dressed up as old people enjoying their coffee, reading a newspaper and knitting. Kept offering me a section of the paper to read. My spun ass barely kept it together.

I do love that Hurt Bird Bath. No idea if I’ve ever listened to the whole show though.

And @Tottengus , you did Baton Rouge through Asheville? I was on the whole run too thought each night was better than the last at the time then let my expectations get the better of me on night six with the bonus STS9 Halloween show at the Georgia Theatre. Stil regret not pulling an audible at hitting Lotus instead in Knoxville on the drive back to Austin. Pretty sure they played Nomad in its entirety that night.
