you creepin’ in?
@Zencer Thanks for liking this post that I made 7 months ago.
I’m guessing you may have seen a certain hog and can confirm it looks great?
Hearing no chompers ftw, I gotta just pony up for a show. Maybe if it’s available @thePeak
I’m sure open bar is worth it but I think the VIP sets have gotten watered down in the past few years. I saw a few that didn’t really contain any big time rarities. I’ll also note that sometimes the things that come with the VIP package are good but sometimes they give you unlabeled drink coasters @mja271
Someone mentioned Headphones which are 1000% worth it at least once. I’m very glad I had them for the show in Binghamton in 2014 because that venue sounded like shit.
PS: I’ve never done VIP
Also the 2019 Bk Steel run might be their best 3 night run in recent history
I’ve done VIP twice. Red Rocks '12 which was amazing but also very early in their time of offering VIP packages. They definitely scaled back on amenities over the years. Beacon '18 I did mainly to just secure the same seat for 3 straight nights, no VIP set and a hilarious dull merch item like gatroe mentioned.
Fr tho, that RR one was awesome. Shuttle transportation to and from Red Rocks and Boulder shows, Soundcheck at RR (bus broke down and we missed most of it so they ended up inviting us to go to soundcheck at the Boulder show, played Synco, AD, Eat, and YYZ), pre show buffet and one hour open bar dinner with the band at RR, signed poster, High Sierra backpack, and getting to hang with our smoking hostess Melch in her prime. Great weekend.
we did VIP for our honeymoon in 2013. we didn’t have smart phones so we didn’t use the UBER codes, but every other aspect was pretty clutch. worked our umVIP staff access to snag the last pair of headphones (for our first time) for the 31st.
we missed the first 10 minutes of the soundcheck because we were getting massages. what we did catch of the soundcheck was a lot of joshua redman getting 1348 down.

ah yes, i forgot price. it was $1600 for the four night option, for two people. so $200/person/day
(that’s 2013 prices, adjusted for inflation, $1,599.99 becomes $2,112.64 or $264.08/person/day)
I’d consider this if I were a noob. No food is wack, though. Maybe it’s a venue thing bc it looks like Brooklyn Steel doesn’t sell food, but you should have food with the open bar.
i’m surprised this wouldn’t be some state liquor control board rule. not sure if the fillmore in denver sold food, but they provided something for us during the open bar period
Since there is no UM VIP Portland I’m offering my couches covered in dog hair for a cool bump or two off your K bag. My house is conveniently a $10-15 Uber from the venue too.
there is also a Popeyes nearby
I literally had Popeyes for lunch yesterday lol.
20 mins ago over here
the last VIP I did, the gift was a straw
Party on!
Have they gotten away from VIP with hotel as part of the package? I’ve done it once for the 5 night NYE run, it was fun because we got rooms at the Ritz Carlton as part of the package and they put all the UM folks on one floor pretty much.
Some nice fella even gave me the option of some whiskey or “really good whiskey”. I opted for the “really good” one 20min later the whole room started breathing. I was fine but my buddy I was with was very scared and freaking out. Shout out to Mrs. Stasik that night she ushered us into the venue through the VIP entrance. I let her know the situation and she was a sweetheart and got us settled in and checked on us a couple times before the show. Zero chance regular security would’ve let us in.
Did VIP for the first UM Bowl in 2010 and it was a waste of money. Melch was our hostess/concierge. We were suppose to get early entry but we did not.
This was actually the best vip package we did. Just cause you got first dibs at BG3
