Yeah, I wasn’t even much of a Phish fan yet, mostly due to my focus on the Dead. My cousin Delainia used to always talk about Deer Creek & how I needed to see a show there. Almost went to those last Dead shows there, but wussed out & only went to Soldier Field.
My 1st show at Deer Creek would be ‘96 Phish.

Yeah, I would love it if night 1 gets a SBD release someday. Night 2 is the shit, but I ~kinda~ liked night 1 better in some ways…

Yep, Reba and Bowie were both top notch. I enjoyed the Possum, YEM, and Antelope a lot, too, but Reba and Bowie were definitely the winners of the night

That was my 1st show. Was living up in MPLS at the time & my then GF’s friends were split between seeing a band that one of their older brothers were in & going to see phish. Wish I had been able to enjoy that set more than I did.
We went to the other show, but then went to Phish after that was done. Walked in during the Bowie & was not into it at all at the time. Enjoyed some of the set after that, but kinda felt like I wouldn’t be seeing them again.
Fast forward about a year. Living n MKE going to school & a bunch of friends were planning the Madison show. I semi reluctantly decided to go along, and was hooked by the end of the show. Drove to St Paul the next day for my 2nd ~real~ phish show, and then hit Halloween in Chicago a week later. The rest is history.

Is it a hot take to feel like Poor Heart is a bad waste of my time? Really does nothing for me. Not sure it ever has.
It’s awesome when Trey rips those sweet country licks with ease. But that’s not often. The studio version is one of the better versions.

Ever since I remembered how bad they suck I’ve been thinking about them regularly. This usually ends up in a binge.

Love that Bowie. Mango Song was a great choice as a followup to that. Fuck I love Phish.

I LOVE the 2.20 Tweezer that opens the 2nd set! That shit gets absolutely filthy. That 6/26/04 you posted is a stellar 2004 show.
