Goose just announced two nights at the Chrysalis at Merriweather. Would LOVE for UM to play there instead of pier 6/MECU!! Hope this means they are going back to having touring shows there. Place is :ok_hand:

Maybe I should see my first goose show. All I know about them is what I’ve read here.

The venue alone makes it worth it. I’m not sure I’ll grab tickets beforehand as I want to wait and see if this means more acts will come through. :crossed_fingers:

If UM played anywhere on MPP’s property, where I graduated from high school and worked for years, I could die a (pathetically) happy man.

Presumably tickets are only for spots directly in front of the stage, right? They don’t try and fill the entire woods with tickets, or do they?

When I went for Greensky it was pretty well packed up to the woods (FOH was right at the line) and the crowd extended sorta up in there

They aren’t making enough money on their own. Time for the next strategy. DUMB tour has never made more sense than 2022 for both bands who are mightily struggling to fill venues they have been playing the last 10 years

This keeps popping up but does anyone have real proof of this? I know those seating charts from some NE dates were posted but I’m pretty sure an explanation was given (forget who). Anecdotally Newport was pretty full. I don’t see anything that implies they’re “mightily struggling”

Maybe they’ll tour with Goose and it’ll be the GUM tour?

The proof is there. Ive been to 4 indoor UM shows and they were all half sold. the Biscuits shows I wanted to see were straight up cancelled due to low sales. Ask most people who have attended shows other than your Newport show and youre gonna find similiar responses. Sounds like Cbus was half sold compared to normal. Its been obvious since late summer.

Detroit filmore was the emptiest I’ve ever seen it since umphreys first started playing there in 2011.

plus there was that VIP set with 17 people.

You have to wonder if it’s the product of covid or if both bands are slipping in popularity? I’ll be honest - I haven’t listened to any UM since about October. Their 2021 shows had some moments here and there but nothing spectacular

I think tDB have cancelled 5 shows since last summer? Only did 2 nye shows.
