What’s the Pier Six seating situation? Is it all seated?

Standing pit, few sections of seats, lawn out back. Fuck platinum tix

Awful venue imo. Was there for UM in '18 and had a terrible time. They quit serving booze at 10pm, the security staff are dicks, youre not allowed to smoke, the lawn is super far away from the stage and the sound is awful back there.

0/10 would not recommend

Cigarettes are bad!

The harbor is beautiful though.

Ugh. What’s the over/under on UM getting added to City Bisco this summer?

And you can jump in to refresh after the show

Pro tip - Never buy presale tix from this venue. Wait until the general sale and buy right at 10. Also, DON’T do the pit as it way too loud and the sound blows. Sit in the back of the first tier or front of the second.

@StoneJackBaller @opsopcopolis I agree for the most part. The venue blows from a sound perspective. It can get hot AF, but with it being June 10 instead of July 31st, I’m hoping that won’t be an issue. Also, my recommendation on where you should sit takes heat into consideration. There is a little cross air flow in that area. If you sit lower than that or in the pit, god help you!

With that said, I disagree on the security. The past few times I’ve been there it’s been a free for all. They don’t care at all and they’ve been really friendly. Saw JRAD there last and it was basically one cloud of smoke. On the 10pm point, most of the shows are pretty much wrapped up by then anyways. It’s not a venue I’d go out of my way to hit up. I only go because it’s my local summer venue. With that said, there are some really good spots within walking distance and parking is convenient if you are coming and going that night.

Maybe I just caught it on a bad night. It was right after it changed to MECU. My friends from Bmore (and my fiance who is from the area) said that security had tightened up alot. We’re also wooks.

And at 10pm the 2nd set had just started.

I wonder if they have a hard stop time of 10pm for booze every show. I guess I usually just grab a drink or two during set break and don’t go back, so maybe I never noticed. Generally, the shows there do start/end earlier though.

Maybe they were profiling some. *These experiences can be so different even from section to section. It really depends on the staff. I’m not sure if it’s the same ladies, but I feel I’ve had awesome staff by my section the last few shows. I usually get one of the rows right in front of the SBD.

*For instance, we just had the vip (or whatever the fuck they call them) seats in the box closest to the stage at the Anthem for UM. On the floor and in most boxes, I’d say 90% had masks off and people blazing everywhere. The staff by our box were on us like crazy. Luckily, they did cool it later in the show, but a few staff members can really change ones experience and overall perception of “strictness”

Never done Pier Six lawn, how is the sound/view from out there?

Don’t do it!

Edit: As @StoneJackBaller said, the sound and view are terrible. If you want the lawn, or trying to save money, bring a chair and just post up across the little canal right outside of the Marriott for free. People actually do that.

Double Edit: You could buy lawn seats, and just hang off to the side of the first tier seating by the concessions. That wouldn’t be bad, but chilling in the actual lawn is kind of a waste if you want to enjoy the show.
