Go for Evergreen
Yeah, I can stay here and fish right on site.
Stayed around there for 2 of the 3 RR runs I’ve done and loved it every time
Thanks, I’ll have to ask @james the best place to stay within a reasonable drive of Red Rocks that has decent flyfishing. I thought of Golden because Clear Creek runs right through town.
You’re going to have to drive a bit after the show regardless. If you don’t have a DD, I’d say consider staying as close as possible, or maybe somewhere downtown near where a bus to show type deal would pick you up.
If you’re not constrained in that way and you’re driving after the show, just stay within 30 minutes or so of Red Rocks nearest where you want to spend your time during the day. Looks like that Cabin spot you posted is a great option.
I will caution that the uber/lyft situation was a pain in the ass last year at red rocks shows. Seemed like there were a lot fewer drivers than years prior, so prices and wait times were way higher than they had ever been.
Thanks, my “wife” doesn’t usually have more than a beer or two at most.
Not sure how long you plan on staying in CO, but if you have the time you should flyfish the poudre river, west of Ft Collins.
Haha pooter
I could live in that canyon 24/7. God I miss CO
Thanks, working first on getting the wife on board for the trip, then deciding how long outside of a couple of shows. I would not expect to do the entire run.
Oh yeah. I’m sure you’d love to live in a deep, wet pooter.
the deeper and wetter the better
My wife is going to be pregnant again during this run, DD is set up well for daddy for this run.
I’ve actually never fished Clear Creek in Golden but it sounds like it can be quite good especially in the summer months. Definitely good access. If you’re looking for proximity to Red Rocks then that is probably your best bet. Bear Creek also runs from Evergreen to Morrison though I’ve only ever fished it from the Liar o the Bear trailhead near Ideldale. From my experience it is all pretty small fish but usually some great dry action from some confident little browns. Sounds like the fishing is better the closer you get to Evergreen, but not sure about the Morrison side. We can chat more later on if you’re def coming.
Def, thx
Just snagged tix for Dillon. My mom and aunt wanted to come to a show so I figured this would be the best one of the weekend for some 50+ ladies
Gonna hold off on rrx tickets unless there’s a good reason to pull trigger now. Getting really excited about this run!!
Can you fluff my pillow during the run? Also #1s of momma @WhoDatVols and auntie @WhoDatVols
Only if we can have a pillow fight after
No #1s on a dbmb of my mother. Irl hangs only
What’s the capacity on Dillon and Vail? AKA can I wook it up until week of or do I buy my tickets months in advance like a normal person?
Dillon is 3-5k and I’d assume that one sells out because of the views and it starting the run. Vail is under 3k. I assume the vail show will be understood and therefore the best show of the run
