From everything I’ve heard from people in the industry/scene, it doesn’t surprise me that UM wanted to cut ties. Ian seems like a real basket case.
This isnt anything new, though. The Goldbergs have always sucked. Interesting that it just suddenly became an issue now.
I always thought Kenny’s worked with JayTV/Goldbergs/Jam Productions.
Are they independent now?

I saw seven shows at the Canopy Club 2008-2009 (UM x 4, Biscuits x 2, and STS9 x 1) and used to think the same thing until I was arrested for being observed smoking pot and subsequently found with less than a tenth of a gram of blow in my pocket aka basically an empty bag and charged with a felony as a result. The only time I’ve been back to Central Illinois (besides several court dates) in the last 17ish years was 8.4.16 in Peoria for the tenth anniversary of my first Umphreys show. Might go back to Peoria again this summer though.

Yea, i mean my friends and i werent saints. We went there constantly for years. Have legit seen like 50+ shows at Canopy. Good chance i was always one of the drunkest and rowdiest people in crowd. Shamelessly doing anything i want at all times.
They did hate cigs, but that is because they open up that walkway to smoke

Jeff Austin stole a bag from me in that walkway. One of the coolest things that has ever happened to me. RIP.

I knew three other people who also were arrested at the same show as me. One of them had a Crown Royal satchel full of MDMA gram bags and went to toss it in the crowd as the UC I mean narc grabbed him and he elbowed the cop as he threw it resulting not only in a felony possession with intent to distribute charge but also assault on an officer. He was already on papers for a DUI and sat in jail for a month after that. We had the same lawyer who coincidentally was referred to me by Nickmo who used him once too.

Bummer, for sure. Sorry that happened to y’all. I almost got busted at Gorge for smoking joint. Luckily he was fat and i ran, but shit happens out west, too. Rouge workers with low self-esteem.

One of the two Umphreys shows I’ve been kicked out of over the years was in Bend 2020 for hitting my pen. So fucking lame I hate Bend haven’t been back since lol. You’d think the last place you would get the boot for getting high would be Oregon. Cannabis has been decriminalized since 1973 here iirc.
