Felt that way for most of the Mantis material tbh. Weirdly enough, I think Turn and Run was one of the first songs off that record to get semi consistent treatment, then just kinda disappeared. CW2 is the other one.
Pretty sure it took 1348 multiple years to start consistently getting jams. One of, if not the first, Mantis with a jam was winter 2014, 5 years after it came out.
That Bayliss lick that comes in after the bounceback section is so money. Jake kind of ruins it with the upstroke stuff but I guess it then leads to them scrapping it for that ascending riff which ends up being pretty huge. They look like they loved that section too. Talk about some #stagepresence
Theres a 3ish min Mantis jam from Kzoo 2012. 10-25-12. Not even sure if it was intentional or not. Ends up going into a Bulls on Parade jam.
Edit: This show really fucking sucks looking at it on Nugs but the second Ringo jam is pretty filthy and theres a very atypical August in the encore slot. One of the better encores Iâve seen.
2016 recs. The madison shows were pretty fun. The jajunk from summerfest was killer
I remember Des Moines being a really fun show too but havenât listened back in forever.
Obvi the 2016 red rock run fucking slays. That speak up>water is one of my fav sections.
Also the 12/30 and nye has some really solid parts
10.20.2016: #5, Red bustout, Ringo, Philâs (Jessica teased throughout the evening)
10.21.2016: Fir > Stinkoâs, N2F > Pig, Jajunk Brownie Kitchen, August (In Bloom teased throughout the evening) Join Together is a good The (bloody) Who song- fun encore [GA>Dim Sum sandwich was neat to see, good example of dissonance & resolve]
10.22.2016: Stanton > Higgins (-> Fussy for extra credit), Mantis, Dump, Bridgeless > Draconian > tBH
