BRING BACK PROVERBIAL

Did a little search and spun the Division from 06/04/10. Good jam. I was mistaken for a while and thought Proverbial was the name of the jam from the DBK 1 slot/ before it goes into Time was Proverbial. They ever use that jam elsewhere? @PEN1S_ISLAND I know your partial to that jam. Would you know?

Thanks, but I was referring to the funky Joel led jam that’s in DBK on that 6/4/10 show. Idk why but i feel like I’ve heard that jam before too.

Couldn’t tell ya if that part is a repeat or not.

Listened to 3/17/11 Kitchen yesterday, that’s the good stuff right there. That type of patience is sorely missed now

That’s one of my favorite Kitchens

I’m on 2016, in my project of seeing if there’s any good songs or shows that I’ve not been exposed to. Having commented enough about how neat the exploratory stuff was in the mid-00’s and how great 07-11 was, the pickings get real slim as time moves on. I am starting to understand the jade.

Notes

Way too many 10 minute Fancy’s and DBK being used to throw covers and short songs out there.

Pirahnas is a horrible song, and I wish I never heard it.

The 1/30 Kalamazoo show has some nice stuff as well. Also, there is video for all 3.

I think I mentioned the DBK earlier in this thread, definitely memorable.

The jade really should set in post-fall '13. One of their better tours.

The stretch from '14-19 gets real rough from finding some stellar shows consistently, but then they find it again and start to hit the stride prepandemic. Then the world goes to hell and they lose it again

Not sure if you listened to 9/26/15 but that’s among my favorite shows attended. Top tier Ringo and one of my favorite Wappys.

Not much stands out in my brain for 2016. The Red Rocks run was really good IIRC

I noticed when they were phoning it in. So many bad festival shows and reliance on Booth Love started annoying me. Another thing I notice is, it took a while to get Mantis going, for as often as they played it.

That’s one that Bort rec’d to me early on. 2nd set is hot, and even the short ITK is a nice little dance number to end the evening.

I noticed them starting to shift their focus in 2012, but still dug 2012-2013 and agree that fall '13 smokes

2014 was when they stopped feeling like the band i fell in love with. Tons of great stuff since then and 2019 is legit top-tier, but at that point i just didnt care so it didnt have the same impact

At this point ill go when they are local and i dont have anything else going on and i am totally content with that

Yea, Mantis was standard town for awhile

The only time it would be interesting is when they did the Mantis Ghetts portion and that wasnt all that interesting

Still loved catching that tune, though, because its just a legit great song. I dont feel that way about much of their catalog
