The first show I was at he read some poem about donkeys a fan wrote and I wanted his life since that moment.

I took my ex’s parents to a show one time, as soon as the band hit the stage, her dad says “well, they all look like lawyers or accountants except for the guy with the afro. That’s not who I expected to play their music.”

Went down a bit of an UM hole tonight on YouTube. Watching old videos pre-2010 when Jake didn’t always wear a hat, and then it reminded me of some borter (Red something maybe?) who proposed does Jake play better with or without a hat? And people were noting it in setlist threads for a while.
Then seeing Joel on Jake’s side also threw me off. Seems so long ago I hardly remember that ever being the case. The Butterscotch G&L. And what happened to Jake’s guitar Mother Earth?
Adam Burney lit shows. I watched a couple vids from 4/30/16, the night we cheered so loud and long after the encore that we actually got them to come back out. Triple Wide second encore with no e-drum intro.

I haven’t seen him bust out Mother Earth in a handful of years I feel. Good thing too, Beckers sound like trash, especially that one.

I agree.
I was told the Mother Earth was extremely temperamental and difficult to tour with. Jake seemed to make a move towards more consistent and stable instruments around 2014 (first the EMGs and then the Z coils.)
Now I’m in a 2006 UM hole. 2006 UM gets way overlooked because 2007 was so amazing but Fall 2006 is just some truly incredible shit. I think starting with the 9/7/06 version, every version of N2F was just ridiculous.
This shit is so good. I wish I weren’t injured right now because I could just go run for miles while listening to this stuff.
