I loved the vibe he brought to the Les Claypool Fancy Band and the Frog Brigade.
In a couple of the tDB announcements on the socials, i saw comments in regards to UM/Myers. Some people that claim to know people/things said that when Myers had a supposed OD on a Jam Cruise, Bayliss started running a tight ship afterwards, and the Jakeless runs were examples being made supposedly. Other thing was, that’s why touring schedule gets weird sometimes, is BB wants rest to be first and foremost as well. Myers basically ran out of strikes is what I was seeing.
Again, it’s talk around the digital campfire, but I can see it being accurate.
I mean that is definitely what happened and shouldnt be a secret to anyone

Bayliss, Stasik and Andy were at the same bar we were at last Friday post Bk Bowl til at least 230. He actually stayed later than Stasik and Andy
He probably slept pretty well after that, though.

Bayliss is probably one of those guys who doesn’t think that being a drunk is also toxic. Its something a lot of people do. I was one of them

A lot of what we see is probably situational (end of a 3 night stand on the road). Does it affect his playing, performances, relationships with band members, family, and friends? If not, then it’s between him and himself.

Very fair. That is how i judge all my vices. As soon as it gets in the way of work or starts ruining relationships, that is when its time to reel it in

Was gonna hop in and mention that when there isn’t a bunch of labor and traveling to do to get to the next town, I’m sure it’s ok to get a little crazy.
On the little Midwest run in August, the crew and I offered Joel and Scotty a joint. We smoked it outside but Joel declined because apparently there’s a new rule in the band that they only smoke at the end of a run or if they don’t have a show the next day to save their voices. They still do edibles during runs, but I found that interesting.
Funny that they’re partying late into thw night on n1 of Brooklyn Bowl. Good for them.
