My plans for tomorrow just fell through so I’ll probably go to Myers Dillon Haas at martyrs now

The Dillon/Myers/Haas show was really fun. Felt good to see Kris playing again. There were some really cool, fun, jazzy moments that I was super into. Dillon is a character, but he grew on me over the course of the evening. Haas has a strong left hand for bass which really fills out the sound.

Was it more like a punkadelic show or was it mostly jazzy stuff?

I am not really familiar with Punkadelic, but it felt like a good mix. About half songs where Mike was singing and about half jazzier instrumental.

Only saw once but I remember Mike Dillon singing punk rock songs but he was also playing the vibraphone. It was a bizarre mix.

The only time I saw Dillion was him opening for um in 2013 in Madison. My 50th show actually. It was a duo I think with some lady who played trombone? But for a dank headphones and snow comes out of it.

What’d you think?

Ended up going to a different show. Bonzo Squad at aliveOne.

May check this out Saturday night. At the same venue as Squeaky Feet a couple of weeks ago

I thought I remember hearing that Myers either didn’t know or didn’t really like dead tunes. Could be cool though

This was a lot of fun.

For the Myers sit in, he did Cripple Creek (vocals), Blue Sky > Jessica, Fire (Hendrix). The Donato keyboardist did vocals and guitar on the Fire and it was the highlight of the show for me

Ronnie McCoury sit in was probably my favorite overall sit in
