yep, basic ST10 youd see in a lot of shops. I think theyre just north of $50k before buying the necessary software and attachments. they do a great job of selling bare bones models and gouging you out the door.
It’s like buying a car, base model is cheap but by time you actually get what you want or need…
Crazy what these machines can do, but even crazier that some component parts still have to be sent to a grinding shop to get them into spec.
Less ballistic is 100% fine with me, but in some of the SBDs I’ve listened to, I’ve really been missing the double bass parts in some heavy sections. Hoping this is something he can work on in the future vs. just not being his style. Looking forward to hearing how he sounds in the mix at Brooklyn Bowl, my fav venue to see/hear UM.
Also as stated above, recently found out he’s a Long Islander like myself, so that’s cool he’s representing.
So many Long Islanders on the bort!
I mean to be fair, its like 3 million people
Damn that’s a lot of lurkers
Imagine my surprise when I learn that Myers was behind all the Roctopus cringe instead of KB.
I thought country was his next big thing. Seems like dude is flailing.
Good fit, looking forward to it.
I’ll plan to check them out when they hit St. Louis. They’re playing a tiny room (Pops Blue Moon). Unless they actually mean Pops on the east side (kinda hope not).
Dude can’t even spell the name of the band he is going to be joining?
It’s Punkadelick, bro.
Pops Blue Moon is so tiny. Its basically just a dive bar. Woof. My man is about to be broke
That said, i might go. Mike Dillon and Kris sounds like a killer combo. Can’t imagine its good for either of their health, but also think they both have let that ship sail already so might as well wook it up
Edit: is Brian Hass that dude from Jacod Fred Jazz Odyssey? Seems like the odd man out during those late night hangs
Looks like Umphrey’s wasn’t a terrible gig after all?
When i say dive bar, I mean dive bar. They are the people who made the bort logo pancake for me, though, back when I had that as my photo. Cool little spot but usually the type of room you are playing for you first real show outside parents basement. Gotta be a gut punch for Kris
Martyrs might be the biggest of these venues and that’s not a big venue at all. It is however a 5 min bike ride from my apartment so I’ll probably check it out
I almost feel obligated to go to the St. Louis show now. I love to rip on UM and Kris is a very easy target but playing a room like that after what he is use to cant be easy. I would be depressed as fuck. Could use any fist bump I could get. I know its not the bump he wants from me, but its the one he is getting from me.
Edit: also three posts in this thread in one day? Guess i gotta make some Beef this weekend
.
Mike Dillion is beautifully weird, I would go. Also to see Kris play for sure
