King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I was able to find a ticket to the Red Rocks show on Monday so I can join a couple of buddies. Having KGLW as my afternoon soundtrack today has really upped the hype for the marathon set

Iron Lung might be my new fav KGatLW track. Going through the entire album now.

listening now too its great

kicking myself again about not being able to make any of their dates work this year

T-minus 4 days until the marathon set and I am FIRED up! What a way to get even more stoked for this show than 3 new albums. My boss tried to make me go to California next Tuesday but I told him I had concert tickets for 3 damn years and I am not missing this show. It worked.

Really digging the vibe of IDPLML. Love how a lot of it is more down tempo but then there are more exciting moments in various tracks. Good flow/arc on this one. Definitely enjoying it more than KG/LW, OG, and Butterfly.

OG is sick but Iā€™m definitely enjoying this more than those others.

Totally missed that an album named Omnium Gatherum was released. This always happens. I donā€™t pay attention for a few months or a year and they come out with 1-12 albums.

Going through this and then Iā€™ll hit the brand new one.

Man I am very overwhelmed by this album. It feels so aimless and frankly kind of boring. Maybe itā€™ll grow on me but for now Iā€™m pretty meh :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Iā€™m digging it a fair amount on first listen

Truly wish I liked it more. I didnā€™t like polygon for a long time so who knows whatā€™ll happen

Did you read about the recording and writing approach?

ā€œInitial recordings happened over the course of seven days, with the band producing hours of jams. At the end of each day, Mackenzie would take those jams and assemble them into songs, from which the band would later add overdubs, additional instrumentation, and finally write the lyrics as a group.ā€

Not that it should change your opinion of the final product, but it adds context for why itā€™s the way it is. Iā€™m sure there are other people in their fanbase, especially people that wouldnā€™t ever have a reason to go on the bort, that arenā€™t super excited by this album.

I liked it a lot on first listen. Probably going to listen again today.

Yes. I do really like this album. Some of these are great candidates for SqFt covers. Add some untz and baby you got a stew goinā€™.

Iā€™m finally giving Infest The Ratsā€™ Nest a shot. Avoided it because thrash metal.

First couple of songs were pretty good but holy shit this album is exhausting.

I like the new album pretty well. With yā€™all talking about it I remember that I have tickets to see them in a few weeks, I should probably catch up. The only album I know super well is Polygondwanaland and I fucking love that one.
