I would enjoy this if I had zero responsibilities and unlimited energy (or a big snow pile.)
I thought sbout going before Caves got announced…
Then I saw that lineup. Woof.
Mildlife, New Mastersounds, Nora En Pure, and Tipper (because hes retiring) are the only things remotely interesting there.
Umphreys Saturday set for their only performance of the fall is what I’d go for.
Love those guys!!!
Why not fall in the NE? Fall ter in the early 2010s was amazing weather-wise. Do winter in the south, driving to NY in a blizzard blows. Never has made sense to me
Fall 2013 NE run was such a great time. Amazing weather and awesome shows.
They had a formula down that was working very well for years. Tour heavy in the winter, spring and summer then take it easy in the fall. Not to beat a dead horse but it seems that formula isn’t working too well these days. Hopefully that means the return of fall ter. Trying to plan shows in the winter sucks, a bad storm will throw off your entire plans and I just don’t care enough to risk driving several hours through dangerous conditions just to see a concert. Give me cool fall weather and I’d be much more willing to drive a few hours to a show or two.
Fall 13 thru March 14 is some of the best UM ever. Just the best combination of tight playing and killer super focused jams.
They used to predictably play west Michigan every Oct/Nov.
Kzoo ‘13 is a top 5 show for me.
Yes and kzoo 14 is legitimately a bottom 5 show
I would think a later fall run that goes through the Mid Atlantic/South could be marketable. October, when the trees are really starting to change but it isn’t treacherous to drive through yet.
They used to run through Ohio at least twice a year. Now we’re lucky to see em once every two years. Sad
I really, reallyyyyyyy wanna drive I-40 E this fall for any reason. Love that fucking stretch after Knoxville so much!
Totally. Always feel like Stasik leveled up a bit in this time frame too. His playing was really inspired
I did a decent amount of shows in this era. Did three nights of NE ter, Holidaze, New Years, Chicago Riv run, and then the majority of the three week WC ter that winter. My shows always come in clusters or at least they used to but I never really appreciated that era for what it was. I might have to take a stroll down memory lane starting in Burlington 13 where @sociablehodor drove me there and ending in Tempe 14 after convincing @Albert_Ross to extend his west coast trip multiples times to finish what we started. Good times on the road that’s for sure, it’s nice to hear the band was playing well then because like I under appreciated the consistency of these guys still then. I’ll never take them for granted again that’s for sure. I’m thirsty for ter again in my life. Hoping 2025 provides me with a chance to get back at it!
I call nans on that. Dude is perpetually “retiring”
The 2013 Riverside Halloween run is probably my favorite multi night run I’ve done.
It was a lotta fun. I hit 10/30 and then 11/1 and 11/2 so unfortunately missed the best show of the riverside nights. Overall the Milwaukee shows were a bit disappointing as a whole but they still had some great highlights. Push the booth deeper tho…no thanks
