After a lackluster umbowl and then looking at this setlist from Madison last night, sure seems like they are taking their midwest fans for granted. Especially in the two cities that really helped them gain popularity.
A Thursday night show in Madison for your 25th anny tour should have not been a standard as fuck setlist.

S2 is awful and band choice wasn’t terrible or great. However, the Raw Stewage set delivered and Songs for Older Women was played really well especially with the monster DBK. Lead me to any S2 event that is enjoyable? It’s a stupid gimmick.

This is your issue brah. Going into this show with those kind of expectations is a recipe for disaster. All I gotta say is GITP!
I’m doing Sacramento>Petaluma>Anaheim>Vegas this month and while I could go into this run with lofty expectations (undersold Sacramento show on a Wednesday night, 550 21+ person cap venue in Wine Country on a Thursday night, Anaheim after 7.3.2019, and first Vegas show since March 2017) I’m going to curb those and go in just hoping to catch a few dozen of my favorite Umphrey’s songs over four nights with at least one or two standout jams from 40+ songs.
Not trying to tell you how to enjoy this band but this works for me. My last show (Northwest String Summit) was very underwhelming fwiw. But before that, I can’t remember the last show I left with that feeling…maybe Nashville 2008.

It’s really just BB who seems to get to have his pick of tunes when they are within 150 miles of Chicago.
Completely agree that the song selection for a Madison show (1st time in 5! years) was really weak.

I’m not going to act like last night was a great show, but it’s the fifth of seven midwest shows on this run and not every show is going to be equal. They could have written a better setlist, but good jams can’t be forced. Some of the midwest fans are so entitled. Why do they owe anything more to you, especially when these supposedly great fans can’t even fill the venue.
