I think we saw the results of this when I was a huge nerd and had a “most improv” thread on 3.0 Bort. If you were to seek out the longest individual UM jams most would be from that 06-08 era. But as far as full shows, most of them were actually fairly recent at the time (2018 and 2019 were common, as well as some 2011 and 2013). There were more jams overall and the older shows tended to have one huge jam in a set and then a couple short jams. A lot of more recent sets had like 4-6 medium sized jams that would overall amount to more improv.

Looking like Detroit might be undersold, my homie works at the filmore and guest lists me anytime they have an undersold show there. He hit me up last night to see if I wanted a spot so that must mean it’s not close to selling out.

Anymore poking on your end? My buddy is trying to book an AirBnB for his bachelor’s party if it is indeed the weekend of 8/18&19. He lives in Denver and is for sure doing Dick’s so we are both hoping this falls two weeks prior…

No further leads. I may or may not have emailed salvage station acting like I was the college radio in Knoxville trying to confirm the dates but they didn’t budge. Hotels around the art district were still pretty cheap, but no more confirmation. I just heard from a very reliable source that they are doing multiple nights in Asheville in August. All I got tho

My friends that are down traveling Argentina right now spent the majority of their fall in Asheville and said the rumors were heavy locally so I’m not doubting the rumors just trying to figure out the weekend it is going to happen. @Southern_Dan said he heard third. Regardless the weekend, I am going to make it happen!
I pray to God its any weekend in August but the last one so I can go…

IME bands are more likely to guestlist during a well sold show
For bands at UM’s level it probably doesn’t make much of a difference, but for smaller bands, definitely.
I’m rooting for “not the second weekend of August” myself. Third would be good for both of us - let’s do it.
