I think the CW2 jam from 2/16 is great despite being short. Feels like it serves its purpose of being a massive build up back into the song. And Attachments is dope as well but should’ve had a peak tacked onto the end. But I wish Puppet, HBB, and particularly Kabump and 3x had a little more meat on them.
That’s why I love 3/29. Virtually every jam (except for, you guessed it, 3x) has a satisfying jam that gets where it needs to go
Yeah the amount of good jams in that Brooklyn Steel run is kinda unfair. And there’s just so much variety, it’s not all peaks or dance jams, you get a little bit of everything. Completely agree, one of the all time great UM 3-night runs in a single city. Trying to think of others…obviously there are some NYE runs (2013 comes to mind), Red Rocks 2018 is definitely up there.
It’s not all the same city but I think 3/22/07-3/24/07 might edge this one out just a little bit for three quality shows in a row. But there aren’t many others I can think of. First Avenue 2015?

Fun story about 3/29 @cshore. I can get pretty mentally into following improv when I’m live at shows. After 3/29, my brain literally hurt (and I was a completely sober DD that night too). Like, that’s how much they pushed boundaries all over the place that show; my brain hurt just trying to keep up. An experience I hope to repeat one day.

Sometimes getting too focused on the improv can hurt the experience for me if they are on an off night so i just try to enjoy the experience with friends and save the analysis for later. It’s really the only way to keep seeing Chicago shows and not get (too) jaded.
I completely agree. But thankfully I know when to switch off and just focus on the experience too. Also, when the improv and/or setlist is weaker, I tend to drink more, which hurts my wallet but does help my perception of the show 
Listened back yesterday and I had forgotten how good that first set is, but man the second set is a stiiiinker. Wappy and Attachments both get killed by the most unnecessary Jake chugs
Yah this Attachments jam is doing nothing for me. Just one of those generic funky jams when they have run out of ideas. Bridgeless and AIT, on the other hand…
I listened to a bit of that Raleigh show…it’s pretty far from “terrible” IMO. Snucka is probably the best version in years, great proggy jam. And Bayliss and Stasik absolutely crush the ending of that Looks jam.
That Raleigh show was very forgettable. I had to go look at the setlist to even remember what they played and that rarely happens for shows I go to. Seeing ramble on in Richmond was pretty cool (and the venue was nice), but that show didn’t do much for me either.

I would be a bit higher on the Raleigh 2019 Snucka jam if they hadn’t done a better version of the exact same jam at Charlotte 2018, even segueing into the exact same song Triangle Tear. Probably a fair amount of attendance overlap between those two shows too.
I agree the ending of Looks is nice. Probably the highlight of that show. Tinkle’s encore was cool too.
Richmond second set is seriously one of the worst sets I’ve seen live. A shame since the first set is actually quite good, especially AIT and Virtue.
After attending both Beacon 2018 and then Brooklyn Steel 2019 I was upset when they announced beacon dates for 2020.
Saw some amazing shows 2019. Couple of duds (Albany, hungington) but can’t complain overall. Stone Pony Set 1, Brooklyn Steel, New Haven were all awesome.
