What's Up with Nugs.net?

Got the $30 Pearl Jam deal last month but $50 is still a good deal

@discobot fortune

Odds that the $20 margin is going in KB’s piggy bank?

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.

@discobot fortune

Odds that KB is pocketing $20 per \m?

:crystal_ball: It is certain

Dang. Wish I’d caught that $30 deal. $50 is really pushing it for nugs.net

Love the Springsteen, Metallica, and PJ. Jam bands are dumb.

Does anybody know if you are a current month-to-month subscriber if you can cancel and get the $50 deal while keeping all your playlists intact?

Some of us were existing subscribers and were able to switch over the to the $30 promo that was previously offered, so I imagine you can also do it with this one.

Ugh when I follow the link it says “Not available for current subscribers.”

Dicks!

If you cancel and wait until your month is up I think you can re-sign up with the same email. I had to use a different one to catch the last promo

Also (and thank you to whatever wook figured this out), if you’re using an Gmail with a . in it, you can remove it and nugs thinks it’s a new email for registration purposes, but sent emails still land in your primary Gmail box. So first.last@gmail.com vs firstlast@gmail.com.

In a similar vein, you can put as many periods as you want in your gmail address and they’ll still get to you. f.i.r.s.t.l.a.s.t@gmail.com would work for the above example.

You can also add “+” and whatever you want right before the “@” and use those to filter your incoming mail. E.g. firstlast+nugs@gmail.com would be sent to your firstlast@gmail.com address and you can set up a filter to direct those e-mails a folder or wherever you want.

I was telling my friend about Nugs and he asked if there’s a similar site or subscription for more jazz or blues artists. Anyone know of anything like that?

to honestly answer, i don’t think there is one. a lot of label’s offer subscription packages to their catalogs through bandcamp though.

unless it’s a rare release thing, streaming platforms and bandcamp is where to get those genres.

I love seeing old stuff getting added to nugs. In the main page recently added list, there’s a '71 ABB show, a '71 Jerry and Merl Saunders show, a '76 Little Feat vid, and a '95 PJ show

That Jerry and Merl show is HEAT.

I love bandcamp. Probably the most musician friendly platform too. I hope they continue doing the first Friday thing into next year where they were waiving their fees and giving artists 100% of the money spent the first Friday of the month during the pandemic.

As much as I love bandcamp I fucking hate the subscription service they have for jazz or jam bands or really just any live shows. The STS9 bandcamp is infuriating with the 5+ second pauses between songs
