Fwiw I’m not arguing that black artists didn’t get their due credit/payment, just that the idea that all music nowadays is black influenced.

Hey, at least bad takes still produce some room for discussion. Nothing changes by waiting for some dream scenario where everything works out well and we all learn to play nice. Anything > nothing

Yea, which is kinda my point. Some things just simply “are.” The world is what it is. Knowledge is a tool. You can do what you want with it. That said, knowledge in itself isnt “racist.”

I always think about how many racists claim king crimson as “white music” yet miss fripp claiming Hendrix to be one of his biggest influences. The truth is that good music sees no color.
I always enjoy these Internet warrior arguments. It’s almost always white people telling other white people how they should feel about other groups of people. Like they’re the ones speaking on behalf of those people and represent their opinions. There’s some weird Jesus complex some white people get over this shit.
Not saying the message is completely wrong. It’s not. But white people just can’t resist putting themselves in front and center of any movement that catches waves.
