those first few moe.downs were so fucking amazing
Really fun little 2-night run at the Minnesota State Fair 17 years ago. Outside of the Phil’s, not a ton of standout improv, but it was a great time paying the cheap admission to the fair, bringing in a backpack with some beers and heading over to this tiny stage.

That was the only year I made it to moe.down but was a blast. That Flaming Lips show was super weird.
my friend chris was up on stage for the flips set, dancing in what was essentially a furry costume, provided by the band

that 8/31/07 show is fucking awesome! N2F > Divisions segment is fire
A very happy 15th anniversary to this gem of a show. Def a top 5 (maybe 3?) show for me.
The band was so relaxed and loose. Maybe it was the wet bar on stage or maybe it was just the mellower vibe in a small venue. But they mention it sometime in the first set how nice the change of pace was.
So many highlights.

I remember having a great time at this show, but I really can’t remember any specifics.
I think this was my first Waful show.
Was waful with them in fall 08? Thought he started at the NYE run
I could be wrong. Maybe he was guesting some shows as some sort of audition? I’m maybe 75% confident it was him for this show.
I believe his first show was 8/9/08. Not sure if he did every show between then and NYE, when it became official.
Intermittent gigs. 100% there for 2008/10/09 and I think that show in Maine with the nutty encore. Few others

That Grand Rapids show was the beginning of perma-ter for me…what a great fucking show that was.
Gave this one a listen today. Junk and Fancy mean business. Really good show to put a time stamp on their sound from that era.

Now 16 years. Such a great year of UM & feel so lucky to have been able to run around the Midwest like a degenerate hitting so many shows. My only regret is not putting more energy and effort into seeing the Biscuits that year as well, because they were also crushing. ![]()
