That slinky groove in conduit w/chugs is my jam. SIYD
are there chugs in that jam?..
Are there any Beacon shows that are worth relistening to? I don’t really remember any of them…
The 2015 (?) show with Redman that’s on Spotify is the best one I can remember. The Redman segments are all enjoyable and I think there’s a pretty good Junk and a short but wild alien takeoff Condy with some drUM and bass in S2 if you’re into that sort of thing.
Thanks for bumping that 2019 Richmond show @Bron-yr-Aur. I listened last night, very enjoyable. The segments you mentioned were nice and there was also a fun little groove in Mantis.
Totally forgot about this one from a few days ago. Great show. Big Mantis, Draco, and ABITW

Great show. Crooked, Phil’s, Reso, Mantis all have pretty big jams, and Booth, #5, CWII, and 2x2 also have some solid improv.

[4] with Don’t Cry (Guns N’ Roses) quote
Oh man that Mantis is so good. I can’t even tell who is on piano vs the Rhodes/synth which is pretty unusual because Jake’s style of playing keys is usually very obvious as it matches the frenetic and percussive way he plays guitar.
This whole run was pretty solid. Very refreshing after that abortion of a Beacon run… FF is right up there with the Mantis from the previous night IMO (both are Jake keys jams.) Also great Virtue, DBK, Plunger, OB

The 10th anniversary of the GOAT. Certainly in the top 5 of all time, and without a doubt the best show I’ve attended. Most of the songs from this show are considered Outstanding Versions, so there ya go.

Wow can’t believe its been 10 years since this GOAT show. First show I saw out east pretty sure. Definitely need to listen back today.
Wasn’t there a huge snow storm before this one? I feel I have a pic of my buddy standing on top of a snow covered car outside of fenway that I should try to dig up
Yeah, I think the cover art on the UMLive was a 10ft pile of snow in front of the Fenway ticket window
Still is! I’m about to spin this show for the first time on nugs
I think this sounds better fwiw…
Found the pic - kind of on the back of the car, not the top, but still looks like a shit ton of snow
thanks for posting, i dig your work
Yea there was a raging storm, maybe the night before into the morning? I don’t remember there being bad weather driving to Boston so I think it was all done before the show, but there was a fuck ton of snow.
This show also was notable for me in that my dad and brother went, and my dad probably has seen 3 or 4 shows. He sure picked a good one! There’s too much about this show to list, but one thing I love that you can hear well in the aud recording (and even Opsops, which yes definitely sounds better), is that the crowd exploded for the start of Jake’s 1st solo of the night in 2nd Self. I have never heard that before or since. I don’t know if something else wild happened at that very moment that got the crowd’s attention, but I like to think people just popped for Jaco beginning his night of shred.
Beginning of set 2 is an all time segment IMO
