Still gonna be a game day call but I think I got the “ok” from the “wife” so looking like I’ll make it even if just for one set. Fuckin blows I gotta work the next morning at 5 but there was no way I could have taken more time off after the amount I’ve taken over the last month and a half.

So no UM Arkansas for me.
I was at the gate and they offered up 1500 to give up your seat. As I was boarding they upped it to 1700 and I thought about it but still boarded. Got to my seat, ate my little sandwich I got near the gate then they said 2k to give up your seat.
I got off that plane immediately, two days off at home to relax and lay near my pool. Got my flight credit of $620 plus 2k in Visa Cards squared away and I’ll see UM next week in SC anyways.
Maybe another time Arkansas!!!

Interesting. Can’t say I would have made the same decision. I took my insurance settlement of $5,000 in 2009 from totaling my car on the way back from 10.9.07 and put it all towards more shows. I could see myself debating the value of heady points or leveraging an extra $2,000 to get a few more shows on the count. I’m not even sure what’s heady anymore, high show counts and state counts be damned! I feel like tonight’s going to be a heater cause it would have been a milestone show for me and it would have been my 42nd state I’ve seen them in so the universe is probably going to drop some FOMO jams on us tonight.

Tonight is going to be a real good show, expecting it to be better than anything from last week’s shows but I could care less. Two thousand dollars is two thousand dollars. I basically got paid to not go see UM, and I probably saved another $100-$150 on top of it by not drinking/eating out…

It was a a smoked turkey with swiss, romaine and tomato on Ciabatta bun. 6.5 out of 10 with regard to grab-and-go airport sandwiches.

Texas Ter FOMO is kicking in hard up here in Oregon. First time missing out in over a decade. Haven’t missed an Austin show since my first one at Stubbs in ‘07.
I hope the rain holds off and everybody gets their dicks kicked in.

Should have booked the Moody Theater…
The Moody is fantastic, but Umphreys at Stubbs on 4/20 is the business for me. Cheaper drinks, looser setting, and joints on joints on joints.

My friends are pretty bummed I’m not there. I did the 2011-14 shows at Stubbs and 2016 too. I can’t believe I haven’t been to Austin in seven years now. I’m hoping ACL lineup is enticing enough to make an excuse to get back there once the summer heat tapers off a bit.
Panic is there all week.
It’s so fricking hot in this state, I cannot stand it.

Today is fucking gross out there I’ll agree on that with ya.
I was hesitant about going tonight with the rain/storms they say are gonna pound the area but was gonna at least try to make it, but the “wife” and I got some not so great news about the baby this morning and I don’t think it’s the move.
Bummed I’ll miss ya, but family comes first. There’s always next year!! (I said that in 2019 too, I’m pretty sure).
