I don’t think segregation established over decades has a point in a 2024 conversation about racism by city/state/region. Making broad changes like that takes a lot of time and there are a ton of factors at play. It’s not like a city finally decides to not be racist and “let’s all the black folks into the north side”

Granted my lineage here in the US goes back to the late 1600’s my paternal ancestors came from England and I was born on an island that was under British control at the time.

I’m a mutt of all the islands, including Scotland and Ireland, on my mom’s side. Her great uncle did rail projects in the middle east and India for the crown. My great grandmother lost a small fortune when a friend of hers took advantage of her dementia and was gifted several hundred thousands of dollars.
