Summer 2022 Tour Dates

Yeah same here.

Phish>Caverns shows> got roped into going to sacred rose now the day UM and biscuits play too. But luckily my pregnant wife is driving us down and back since fuck staying down there and trying to Uber back downtown for that festival.

Let’s drop some L and giggle together

Sounds like a sacred rose pre-party is planned.

Great reason for me to skip that show, Chicago has some of the worst venues in the country.

For being one of the best cities in the country it truly falls short on having great venues. The Chicago Theater and Auditorium are nice tho

Thalia is great too. Chicago has awesome venues, just none for a crowd size that UM draws

I feel like they could play the Chicago theater or Auditorium, but the Aragon and Riv is what they choose instead.

It makes zero sense at this point to play those shit hole venues with nicer options. Especially with the backlash the band has received after that last NYE Aragon debacle.

What was the debacle? No one getting in on time?

Yeah it was people missing sets because they don’t take their concerts seriously and show up 5 hours before doors. I made it in fine but my group missed the whole first set. But I cut everyone in line.

That ontop of being overwhelmingly oversold.

Several years ago Joel said that those are union venues and they’d have to charge more than they’d want to make it worth it. Which I take as them wanting max dollar to play vs making fans happy and fear they won’t be able to fill those places at $50-60 a ticket

Also I think chi theater is bigger than the Aragon and they haven’t filled that joint in years

Well in this economy I call BS because tickets prices have gone through the roof thanks to Biden.

I feel like their last NYE run there was nut to butt. That was also like 5+ years ago, so who knows how well they would sell today.

New Years needs to happen at the Mission in Denver. That is the best indoor venue in the country IMO.

Chicago Theatre is 3,600 capacity.
Aragon is 5,000 capacity.

Ok so smaller lol

If they were able to sell 5000 tickets over 3600, then I don’t blame them.

But now that their popularity is declining, maybe the Chicago Theater or Aud is back in play again.
