RR+ 2022

It is a bit odd that UM plays red rocks plenty, and they used to play Boulder theater every year, so I assume UM management is friendly enough with Don and AEG. But UM still returns to the Fillmore. Maybe they get some kind of money or special treatment at the Fillmore? I can’t imagine the band just loves that room or something.

AEG does have radius-clause things for bands playing red rocks, but that stuff can always be applied or not applied if AEG feels like it.

Heard the Mission is the spot. Unlimited re-entry and lawless.

They should play both. They’ve done RR and Fillmore runs plenty of times in the same year.

the mission is a fantastic indoor venue, but I agree that it’s hard to beat red rocks

I wish they still played boulder theater occasionally. I dont like travelling a whopping 2 hours to see UM

My first 45 or so shows were all at least a 3 hour drive away. Hard to summon that energy these days

I’ll deal with y’all naysayers in the morning. But it’s red rocks fluff until a month from now

Can’t wait to be bitching about Dillon’s early curfew this time next week. Going to have to find something to be salty about seeing Umphrey’s outdoors in the mountains.

I’d take a sick FF. My last sick FF was this guy in 2014…

August 15, 2014 Umphrey’s McGeeThe Fabulous Fox TheatreSt. Louis, MO, USA

Set 1: Lucid State > Andy’s Last Beer, Words, Tribute to the Spinal Shaft > Similar Skin > Blue Echo > FF > Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Mulche’s Odyssey

Set 2: Phil’s 7 Nation Money Farm, Resolution > The Message > Educated Guess, In The Kitchen[1] > Syncopated Strangers[2] > Nemo[3] > Syncopated Strangers > In The Kitchen, The Triple Wide[4]

Encore: Believe the Lie

Footnotes:
[1] with No Comment teases
[2] with Jake on keys
[3] with Dance With Me (Orleans) teases
[4] with Jake on drums

That show was a blast. Some dude on the old Bort sold me second row pit tickets Bayliss side. That venue was phenomenal. So glad I got to see them at the Fox in St. Louis!

If you do spin it, don’t sleep on the palindrome in the second set. I think all three jams are worth listening to. None are otherwordly but back to back to back at the time in that venue on whatever L i was that night was something else. I think I might just listen to those myself right now.

2nd set is so good. I was at like 20 shows without a Phil’s Farm so when the opening notes struck I got so jacked before getting bamboozled.

Rseo → The Message is fun, the palindrome is straight butter and the Triple Wide isn’t bad by '14-'16 standards.

Blue Echo has a fierce 6 minute dance jam

@WhoDatVols, spin it

Bring sunglasses. A lot of the venue gets blinded by direct sunlight as it sets behind the stage.

My biggest Dillon complaint

took your advice and booked at the heaton bay campground btw

Hell yeah. I would have offered for you to join but we’re going to be tight on space with a few tents as it is. Come kick it after the show though: sites D53 and I think my buddy Jerry has D54. You met Jerry last year, he’s the one who had us over after the show.
