I wish the openers were worth showing up for. I am not a fan of Andy Frasco in the slightest. I’ll give lespecial a chance but man, remember when it was JRAD? or Galactic? Or RRE? If this run doesn’t sell too well, and I wouldn’t be surprised with Slow & Co. down the road in Boulder, I could see UM needing to bring back some bigger opening acts to continue playing multiple nights at Red Rocks. But to be honest, I’d rather see them play the Mission going forward…Red Rocks is great but the Mission is so much easier to work with.

They played Portland on St. Patrick’s Day but I didn’t end up going…my buddy was pissed at me for bailing lol. I just couldn’t get into any of their tunes I played off Spotify. To be honest, I can’t get into jamband derivatives these days. My tastes have changed a lot over the last decade.
Interesting. I actually think they’re one of the fresher sounding new bands out there. But I also was a metal head, so I really dig when they go heavy. I just wish they jammed more.

I’m in the same boat regarding venues. Red Rocks sounds like a whole damn thing to me lol. I’d much rather see them at the Mission but I believe they have contracts that preclude them from playing there in favor of the Fillmore. Between being broke, jaded and having bad back pain Red Rocks is just a lot for me. I’d ideally like to hit one night but idk if it’s in the cards this time around.

I mean the guys drink Budwesier for crying out loud, who are they to talk about mids. I gave Bayliss a Two Hearted Ale I brought with me to Holidaze in 2017 and he was like what the fuck is this shit.

No knock on Budwesier just find it hypocritical the band would call out mids when they drink mids. I’m more of a Bud Light Platinum fan myself…when I lived in Austin my friends and I would go on these three day SVEDKA benders and by Sunday morning we’d be out of vodka so we’d drink Bud Light Platinums all day since we couldn’t buy liquor on Sunday’s in Texas.

We busted this myth right? a third tier jamband like UM doesnt have some special clause with a Denver Fillmore when other artists (jam or not) who have played the Fillmore plenty in the past are now playin the Mission? Cant fool us, Joel!.
Just something I’ve heard. They’re like the only ones who haven’t played Mission yet so I assume something’s up, but I guess they haven’t played indoors in CO at all in the last 2-3 years
Its always Joel tweeting that excuse. No1s buying it haha.
Next he’ll tell us the Mission is too expensive for UM fans

Is this your first time going to Red Rocks? Red Rocks and the Crystal Ballroom are my most seen venues for the band (eight times each) so I’m definitely more excited for Dillon and Vail and after the Biscuits in April, I really want to see Umphrey’s play the Mission.
Red Rocks is great don’t get me wrong, but it is also a bitch to deal with logistically if you don’t have your rides lined up and whatnot. My cousin lives ten minutes from Upper North lot so I will be taking an Uber there both nights and not sure what I will do after each show…probably trying to hitch a ride into Morrison and catching an Uber from there instead. It is kind of crazy to think in 2016 I had like a half dozen options for party busses and this year I’m not even sure if half the fam will show up.
