Not looking great in vik tonight. I only Ave one more night here and will be a lil sad if I don’t get a chance to see them. Can’t believe I missed em on the flight over. I wish the captain made an announcement or something
Barely. They’re weak tonight. Can’t see any color with the naked eye. Looked more like moonlit clouds than anything else.
Shitty picture of my camera screen, but this gives you an idea of the brightest they were in the last hour and a half. 8-10sec exposure.
KP value tonight was only 2, which is just enough to see anything. It’ll be 4 tomorrow, but too cloudy to see anything.

I’ll try again tomorrow most likely. Forecast shows high clouds, but some pockets are clear with no low/mid level clouds. Apparently with that kind of forecast, the high clouds could be thin or sparse enough to give a view. KP forecast for tomorrow is 4, so any lights we do see will be a lot stronger.

Just drive and drive until you find clear skies, and then look north. If you’re unsure, try a long exposure if you can. When they’re first starting they look like grey clouds.

Thanks for the tip. I’m in Vik tonight, going to try to start by that cool arch/lighthouse on the ocean and then maybe head towards Skogafoss. I got my nice tripod and camera so I’m all set!

Seems like n3 had all the highlights besides Mantis from n2. OB clear jotr, but I also really liked the 2x2 and GA. attachments is a good size jam but don’t remember it going anywhere. Puppet is also worth a listen.
