That is pretty wild. That event has had some really weird publicity in the past few years.
wonder when the band plans to arrive in iceland…
As for no alcohol in the theatre, kind of sucks. Feel that will make for a hectic set break of people all trying to grab a drink at once.
I bring flasks to a bunch of shows, seems like the move here too. I buy these soft plastic black ones from amazon that work pretty good, easy to crotch if you need to for a security pat down as well. Will have them prefilled before flying to help cut alcohol costs a bit as well.
As for flying, I have no fear flying with pretty much anything int the US. I def plan to bring a pen on this trip. Pills and paper aren’t even a worry. I do have some hesitation of flying international with any powders though.
As for no alcohol in the theatre
Do we have confirmation this will be the case for UM?
Pretty sure this is the case based on yelp/trip advisor reviews of the venue.
Somebody tell Bayliss he has to leave his wine in the green room.
Wow that blows.
Care to post the link to these?
these are the ones i buy
How do you sneak that in? Seems with liquid in it the flask would be kind of bulky and obvious.
Curious about this as well. Seems like it would make me look like I have fupa
Tits help for sure. I usually leave flask duty up to the GF. It’s a shame she’s not coming to this one lol my plan is bamboozled.

Another update. Looks like all systems (still) go

Dear Röckjavik Friends,
As of Thursday, March 5, Umphrey’s McGee presents Röckjavik is still scheduled as planned for March 20-21-22 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
The following information details the current status of the coronavirus situation within Iceland as of March 5:
From the Government of Iceland, Ministry of Industries and Innovation:
https://www.government.is/news/article/2020/03/04/response-to-COVID-19-in-Iceland/
Icelandic authorities have taken preventive steps to contain the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country. As Iceland has few entry points and the lowest population density in Europe, the country has been able to move swiftly to identify, communicate with and, where necessary, quarantine Icelandic residents. As of today, we have not diagnosed any cases of infections transmitted in Iceland, and the steps we have taken have so far has proven effective. The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections in Iceland is 26 as of March 4, 2020. The individuals diagnosed are all Icelanders who have been recently traveling in Italy and were, in fact, on the same flight. There are no restrictions in place for tourists, and there are no restrictions in place for travel to Iceland.
Important information for tourists in Iceland about COVID-19:
Again, we are closely monitoring any news updates from within Iceland and will update www.umphreys.is and all Röckjavik social media platforms as any additional information becomes available.
We’re excited to see everyone in Eldborg Hall two weeks from tomorrow!
Takk! (Thanks!)
Awesome to hear, glad they are keeping us updated. Of all the places we could be trying to get to during this, Iceland seems like one of the least likely to get shut down.
Agreed. Glad they’re not doing Rockin’ Rome with Umphrey’s McGizzi
Poster for that one woulda been dope though
I had a friend send me a care package that was supposed to contain L that he was gifting me, but he ended up forgetting to include it in the package. I was really looking forward to tripping at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and at a show then hopefully northern lights. Bummer
