Idk if I agree with that. Selling VIP packages and writing music aren’t the same thing.
I didn’t say they were.
This doesn’t surprise me. It’s always been one of the coolest things about UM and one of the things I’ve always loved most about them.
I only started this discussion because I thought the new track title was fitting. UM gives off the vibe that they don’t really know what they want to be and what their niche is.
It’s not necessarily a bad thing and something we’ve surely discussed several times.
My point is that business isn’t necessarily related to the artistic side.
Just look at the band, some (one) of the members want to jam a lot and some (the rest) of the members don’t.
Phish also had Fast Enough For You and Maze on the same album. Jam bands have been doing this forever.
I’ve honestly grown to dislike Bayliss as a songwriter and lyricist.
Classic lazy liberal scum
He absolutely cannot write about anything other than his own personal demons / shit, it’s pretty tired.
That said, I don’t really pay attention to lyrics much, and I really like this song, it’s pretty dynamic and has some very memorable bridge / chorus sections.
I don’t hear meaning in lyrics unless I sit down and try to figure it out so I’ve never noticed…
Spot on. 15 years of woe is me I got divorced and I’m stuck in my head bullshit. Most of the songs are so wordy to the point that I’d argue he’s hardly even saying anything.
This one has a decent hook in the chorus at least.
There is something about the phrasing that has changed.
I agree but lyrics are always the least important part to me. Especially when talking about jam bands
EMO BAYLISS >>>>>>> ANY OTHER VERSION OF BAYLISS AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL
Why rush it?
Idk man, the lyrics from Contact changed my life
The beginning kinda reminded me of a police song.
Why wait? We’ve been hearing it’s been mostly done for a while
