TBH, I’d love to see Brian, Kevin, and Jimmy sit in at their respective positions with UM, especially Brian.

I wouldn’t be upset either way. However, given that Goose is on the “commercial” end of the jam band genre (like DMB or O.A.R.), I don’t see UM resonating with that crowd necessarily.

Which is why i have said if it made sense for them to do it, do it. I just didnt like the idea of them just being a tool to play songs that need two guitars.

Having met @cshore, I don’t think he would mind. Plus opening for UM would expose them to the UM crowd that aren’t on the Bort.

Speaking for myself, I know I’m not gatekeeping or putting down UM. UM is in a real state of flux right now, and time will tell how things ultimately shake out. There’s no question that a second guitarist is necessary, given the catalog of music they’ve had since bringing Jaco on board. Perhaps UM plays in this configuration until they have a break between tours and maybe hold auditions?

Either way, it’s their band, their musical vision, their choice.

Yeah agree. Cryan is way off here. UM would kill to have 1/10th of the average audience of an OAR show.
