Mantis was on the setlist last night to end 1st set, but got cut probably because the Escape Goat jam went so well and Unevolved is a 45 minute song

Unevolved fucking slays, feel like this second version was a little tighter and more confident than the UMBowl version. 24+ minutes is a huge chunk of time and huge setlist hog, but just about all of it is great. I think you can probably cut out some of the noodling around the 13-16 minute mark, but it’s a great piece of music, even if it is just pieced together with awesome improv from the last 10+ years. Hope it sticks around!

I can’t see it being played more than 1 or 2 more times. It’s such a huge chunk of their already short sets. Can’t say I’m upset catching it again though because I really enjoyed it. That 1st set is one of my favorite in recent memory. Both standard songs are in my top 10 in their catalog and that GOaTY really had legs.
Even though Mantis is my favorite jam vehicle, the last place I want it is at the end of a set. Pretty much means it will be a short jam since they need to finish the song. Totally fine with it being cut

in the 1/21 version, was there any jamming? I thought at one point they went into some improv but couldn’t really tell with all the comp’d sections

Anybody got a brief rundown of the VFJ rail riders drama? I got overwhelmed when I saw someone decide that @Random_Ass is ok with touching people without their consent, with literally no context or reason lol
