I like my walls with strung out wooks with no pants on free soloing the wall from security.
Iād know that bathroom anywhere
Still might be my favorite run of shows
Been waiting for you to chime in here with this gem
Omfg, I missed him when I first looked. Look on his face is priceless.
Had some good times with that dude back in the day. Wonder what heās up to
Bahaha great timing cause I got to party with his ass tonight! Love Jake. They tried to talk me into going to DC but nahhhhh
Grover left a putter at our house in like 2015 or 2017, after a Riverside or Madison Orpheum stand. Canāt even remember why he had it with him when he stopped past, as he hadnāt been staying with us. Also, pretty ridiculous that I still hold onto it, as I had texted him when I realized he left it & he told me not to worry about it, cuz it wasnāt an important club. I guess that Iāve kinda been hoping that I find an event where I know weāll cross paths & I bring it to him as a joke. I missed a perfect opportunity at @gimmethefunk Patās wedding in 2019ā¦haha
The times I run into much of that mid-late 2000s (ā06-ā12) crew are so few and far between these days, but itās never completely out of the realm of possibility. ![]()
Ha! Guess what? Him and his childhood buddy are attempting to play 18 holes today and drink a beer a hole.
But to make it a tad more responsible they will alternate holes between them. This is an absurd but hilarious plan before a 1030 pm Biscuits show start.
Him and āthe wifeā are about to celebrate 20 years together so thatās badass.
Where we at with Zwang? What is everyone thinking? I want to love it badly but nothing has grabbed me yet. Bunch of ācoolā stuff but nothing I want to listen to again. Itās mostly all very vanilla. But I appreciate the effort to let things breathe more.
The rough sound quality is hampering my enjoyment, his kit just sounds too quiet, like thereās a hole in the SBD or something.
I have liked the bits and pieces I have heard more than the last several years with Kris. Still not a band I have much desire to listen to in my free time or a band i would travel outside of my city for
I still enjoy listening to Umphreyās McGee, and thatās all that matters to me at the moment. My only complaint is the reliance on covers and cover-themed jams instead of genuine improv.
I think heās a āfineā drummer, but the best part about him joining is that the band is practicing together again and that they are actively listening to eachother during jams, which leads to some really awesome patient builds. Iām excited for this era.
I donāt think heās better than Myers but I also wasnāt really relistening to any stuff with Myers behind the kit for the last 4-5 years anyway. Seems like the band has some new energy and the shows have looked fun, really all I care about at this point 20 years into being a fan.
Iāve bitched and moaned about it a bunch already, but the only thing keeping me from being engaged in what the bandās doing is the god awful soundboards. I canāt get over the quality. Loved every UM show Iāve seen this year, but I refuse to follow because the audio quality will just piss me off
This is my main takeaway from the past 6 months. Scotty is not the technical wizard that Kris is, and heās not trying to be. He has found a really nice role in being a timekeeper during jams, and letting the rest of the band improvise around him without getting in the way or forcing a shreddy Jake peak too early. Also heās no slouch. Heās not Kris, but heās still a killer drummer.
And he seems to have a pleasant and infectious personality, in which the band is the happiest Iāve seen them since Iāve gotten into them.
Seasons from pine creek run is probably my favorite. Stays in the pocket and then hits a nice upbeat tempo.
āIām grateful to be hereā vs. āyou should be grateful that Iām hereā
