Winter 2019 with Cam. I think everything they do now sounds the same. If they sang more and jammed less, we’d be comparing them to Goose IMO. Sound on their shows always blows as well.

That ETS and Virtual Bean Dip are my two favs. Be advised though! You’ll be jaded and pissed after listening to these. Nothing they’ve done or will do since then has or will ever come close to this. Cam was just that much better and pushed their sound in the right direction

There a handful of jams that I like with Nick, but its night and day from that winter tour in 2019. Every show was fire and jams dynamic. It mostly just noodling/peaking now with boring edrum mixed in from time to time.
I think this pizza jam and the beginning of the improv set2 from Indiana (I believe that’s where it was) a couple years ago was really good. But overall, I have a hard time getting into anything they put out these days
This is how i felt for years after being really big on them from 2014-2019. Was so bored at the last couple shows I had seen that i wrote them off, but i streamed 3 of the shows so far and they were all really strong. Especially Asheville.

And that’s not to say people shouldn’t go see them. Music is so subjective and I’m sure the shows are enjoyable. However, objectively speaking, winter 2019 was BY FAR the best version of Spaff and they were on an upward trajectory as Cam was just getting sea legs. The worst decision a 4th tier jam band has ever made, so don’t feel bad when I see that their popularity has plateaued or even declined significantly.
That Winter Tour w/ Cam was so damn good.

Speaking of amazing covers, Lotus’ cover of Innerbloom is definitely one of the best drug band covers I’ve ever heard.

I saw 16 Spafford shows in 2019…was a great year! Caught Jam Cruise, Asheville, Athens, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay and Knoxville before Cam got the boot.
