Has it always been hanging brains music? Wasnt it hanging chads? Or was that just the song?

Always been hanging brains with KB’s silhouette as the logo. Chads was just the song.

I have come to the point in my life where I no longer care to see UM shows unless it just happens. Also have realized that UM doesn’t really do it for me anymore. And alot of other bands are in the same boat (besides biscuits). Some jams here and there are fantastic and suck me back in. Idk it really sucks tho

I had a great run. And still enjoy going to shows. Priorities have changed for me and I think I’m at peace at it for now. Just a weird feeling.

Edit: I wouldn’t have met a lot of y’all without this place and this community. Some of my best friends for life came from this

+1. Nothing wrong with that.

If my “wife” wasn’t so set on going to the Salvage shows, id probably skip those too…

I actually think that’s the last shows that we are planning. @timewilltell and his wife are coming down and wanna see them and kick it

I think it’s now more about seeing my people than the music

Yeah they just dont do it for me anymore. Havent in a while. Im honestly jealous of some of the people here that have seen 100+ shows and are still super about it. I wish I could still be that way, because I used to be sooooo fucking in love with them. UM changed my life. But the magic is gone for me. Maybe one day, it’ll come back.

Agree about the homies though. Always good to see the ter friends.

It’s cool when they come to my town.

I think overtime I will be drawn back in. I just don’t have time or the effort (@Southern_Dan ) to do it anymore right now. Having 2 kids and 1 being special needs is enough for me.

They hold such a special place in my heart tho

I totally understand. If they are in town I will attempt to see them. But planning family vacations around their dates isn’t happening anymore for me, hasn’t for a while now. I still enjoy seeing them, particularly at Meijer Gardens.

I feel super awkward here, the Bort, cuz I’m of an age where I could’ve easily hit a few hundred shows and “retired”. I wish I could share the enthusiasm with some of those that just aren’t into it anymore.

meanwhile, I’m at the point where I’m pretty bummed, because i don’t know when my next um show will be solely due to unable to make any of the announced shows work.

hate the feeling of walking out of a show and not knowing when the next one will be

Since 2019 by year I’ve seen 4, 2, 0, 3, and 1 shows. Some of that was due to covid and less interest on my part, but the decrease in multi night runs in nearby cities hasn’t helped.

I met you later in my show going years but I feel you Perren. Love you and Lana like family but going to shows is hard bc my wife was never part of this scene. Between that and limited time off going to shows is difficult nowadays.

Grateful I still find greatness in this band I’ve been following for almost 20 years now. Happy to see what I can at this point…

My advice would be to GITV. The band is playing pretty well right now. I just missed 2 top 5 shows of the year within a few hours of my house, 1 in my home state. Even 5 years ago, that would have NEVER happened.

But yeah man, get after it. Ter is so much fun. 100 shows in 5-6 years is totally doable.

I think it really helps that I don’t super actively listen to shows like I used to. I’ve been super happy about the last year of shows ive caught, and it’s more about vacations and friends for me now at this point. It also helps that the amount of other genre shows I’ve seen have mostly been non jam lately

These are exactly my thoughts. Go go go go. And don’t stop. My wife saw 100 shows between 2010-2017. Most after 2010. I’d be excited if I was just getting into this band right now. But I’m not. Times have changed as has the band. And that’s ok.

The people you meet while doing multiple night shows and seeing them every fucking month is awesome.

You should get after @SchladopianFir and I hope you do

Oh I definitely plan to exponentially increase my show count lol. Good vibes I got from the few people that I met at Sacred Rose was the chef’s kiss to the day of good tunes.
