I didn’t know things were that tight, I feel bad for bitching about the $15 stream… and i’ll definitely be getting it now.

Yeah even Ryan Dempster is panhandling with him.

holy hell no way. If any former Cubs pitcher was panhandling I’d expect it to be Mark Prior.

why? he is a MLB-level pitching coach. i assume he’s doing quite well for himself with the dodgers

Because he was supposed to be the Stephen Strasburg of the Cubs but he ended up playing 3-4 seasons and was out of the league quick.

Had no idea what he was up to, good for him. Pitching coach is easily 250k+

Is this sarcasm or serious? I sincerely don’t think that he was out there hoping to make a few bucks, well, I’m guess I should say that I sincerely hope he wasn’t. I’m thinking that’s him just wanting to play for the neighborhood and probably get out of the house for a bit.

He was being filmed playing the national anthem (not the YouTube vid), most likely for the new Marquee sports network to drop in pregame.

No I was just making a bad joke about Bayliss doing something awesome.

Hahaha okay, sarcasm meter got stuck for a second.

I went back to my unwatched DVD collection this week and watched 12/30/05 and 12/31/05. I had never heard these shows before, much less watched them. Speaking of Bayliss, he seemed really really depressed on this run, especially noticeable on an NYE show. Not really doing “frontman” stuff much at all; Jake and Joel were having to take over a lot.

The music was very good. I wish all jams into Auld Lang Syne were like this N2F. Would it be that much to ask for them to start set 3 at 11:45 instead of 11:52? I loved the cover/Jake on drums jams in set 2 too, and Swerving with horns was fun. 12/30 has too much Keller but also a classic WWS and solid Plunger outro jam. Fun run.

Oh, and Just A Gigolo was priceless  I wish the band did completely silly stuff like this on holiday shows more often. We’ve got 100 shows a year to get great improv; we can afford a little silliness on the holidays, you know.

Where the hell did you get that on DVD? I don’t think that was ever an official release and that was well before webcasts were as common as they are now.

That was my first NYE run, of any band. Loved that 2 night run so much, was 20 years old and before Keller got super tired and stale to me.

And yeah as far as Bayliss, he has said that in 2005 he was in a pretty bad funk getting over his first marriage and divorce. I heard him talk about it in some podcast this year that the band kind of had to pull a mini intervention on him to shape up.

My bad. I just used “DVD” to mean video. It is actually an audience-sourced VHS that I got an electronic copy of, in the case of both shows. It’s decent quality. The camerawork deteriorates as 12/31 goes on because I guess the person was celebrating the New Year a bit  Full copies of both do exist though.

Ordered the Anchor Drops Redux LP a week and a half ago and there still hasn’t been any action on my order since then. I understand COVID has an effect on shipping times but 10 days is a bit annoying when they haven’t even printed the shipping labels yet. Ordered an LP from BIlly Strings and they had my order in USPS’s hands within two days.

C’mon team UM (or w.e 3rd party runs your online merch), at least get my order to USPS within the two week mark.

I ordered a shirt from Metallica’s website and the tracking said “Label Printed: Awaiting Item for Processing” for 5 weeks so I emailed them. She kindly directed me to their FAQ which said please allow 6-8 weeks for shipping due to COVID. WTF. Then it randomly showed up in my mailbox without ever having it’s status updated. 7 weeks from purchase to mailbox.

Yeah I just sent a kindly worded email. I’m not angry since I know there are extenuating circumstances but I would like an update. I just wanna listen to my LP mannnn

12/30/05 was my first show. Can you share that video please?
