I like the OG Kula. Love hearing it at the end of 2/28/08 set one. People really hated the vocal part but it was a unique tune, that 2007 NYE run set of new songs were so exciting at the time for me.

An employee of the bands brother posted it in UM Discussion. I realize this sounds unreliable but I tend to believe the guy who posted
I did see that today or yesterday didn’t want to post it, because it got me feeling all sorts of ways about missing out on a new NYE location with the beach in my day time drinking hours before the shows.

Yeah, super bummer to hear. My parents moved to Florida like 40 minutes North of Miami recently, would’ve been able to knock out a visit to them and see UM at the beach. Would’ve been awesome.
I can’t imagine anything was definitive considering they haven’t played a normal show since March.
even still, a NYE run hold probably has to be placed a solid 12-18 months in advance. Its not like anyone knew COVID was coming when they were booking venues in Q3/Q4 of 2019.
It def would have been planned that early out, I’ve gotten to sneak peeks at the tour spreadsheet that goes out to the band, family, etc. and there have always been dates 1-2 years out that are on hold.

That is true. I’m assuming NYE dates are “strong” holds in this instance but who knows for sure.

I played the Dump City from Penn’s Peak for my sister & she liked it, then put on Push the Pig from 7/23/17 and she changed it to static on the radio…
