Ravinia lawn is like listening to the band over the radio while you are stuck sitting at the most pretentious Kentucky Derby party you have ever been to.
maybe at a Lyle Lovett show, the lawn is filled with wooks for UM. Ravinia season ticket holders donāt make it past the end of the first set.
Unless you stand up at the fence between the pavilion and the lawn, you wonāt see anything. There is no hill or slope, the lawn is completely flat.
Oh damnā¦.
BYOB on the lawn sounds very fun too.
Lawn BYOB scene is great. The move for Ravinia is get there right when the gates open>Setup a nice picnic>Pregame with food and drink>watch show from pavilion>come back out at setbreak. Just need some friends who donāt care about the music that stay on the lawn all night. Thereās a train that takes you back to the city right out front too.
Had a great time on the lawn at the one UM Ravinia show I went to, but that had very little to do with the music being played
The lawn is great for a show you donāt care much about.
And given the general discourse of this website that appears to fit the bill for a lot of you.
During Gizz I walked down to the right and had pretty good sightlines for a while, then went back and drank more
The show ticket includes a free train ride to and from the show on the Metra UP-North line. Fantastic perk of this venue. Just show your ticket on your phone when the conductor walks through https://schedules.metrarail.com/pdf/UP-N.pdf
