Train beers are the best
The biggest barrier for train beers is the suburbification of American cities in the post-WWII period, along with the interstate highway system and the overall proliferation of car-centric infrastructure at the expense of trains and rail systems.
we could and should all be enjoying train beers a lot more regularly.
In for Pishgah. Booked an Airbnb. Catching up with some friends who we havenât seen in a long time, and weâll all have kids 2 and under so it sounds like weâre probably just doing the Saturday show and taking it easy Friday night at a baller Airbnb 25 minutes south of Black Mountain.
Honestly going to be perfect. I surprise myself every time I consider traveling for UM, so resisting the urge to go both nights is the move. Now that thatâs on record, watch me end up going both nights.
That âcamping areaâ still cracks me up.
Wasnât it at the adjacent Anastasia State Park or did Team UM create their own in a field?
They bulldozed about 100 square feet of brush next to the parking lot of the St. Aug Amp. Perfection.
Damn I got excited for a min thinking this was an evening with
WaitâŚwrong Tour
that would arguably be a better tour to be down a guitarist, considering moe. has a couple they could lend
1.5
Agreed. Iâm also not doing any of this tour so that would be much preferred
Officially official. Tix on sale 4/24, but members might be able to get early access just like Ravinia.
Speaking of Ravinia, anyone get a hetty member presale code? Ask your rich north suburb aunts and uncles.
Pretty sure @ski-bUM has ravinia roots or something
Worked there in HS. Still know a few people.@Derblutenpat you looking for pavilion tickets?
I think almost everyone who will go to this will be, but yes I definitely am.
For those who donât know, if you donât have pavilion seats at Ravinia you cannot see the stage. The lawn will have some video screens available to see, but the stage and band are not visible from the lawn area at all. Someone last year leaked the presale code for King Gizz which was great and everyone who cared (me, @kramm and his âwifeâ) got to be up front in the Pav.
Idk chilling on a picnic blanket drinking the food and wine/beers I brought in was pretty sick
Depends on what you want your experience to be I suppose. There are many ways to enjoy a show at Ravinia
How many UM shows can you get a good seat with a nice view?
How many UM shows can you bring in a case of beer, an italian sub and camping chairs?
thatâs what it boils down to for me. nothing special about the pav at Ravinia other than the fact that it has a view of the stage which you get at 97% of the UM shows you go to.
