Out of those 4, Speak Up is my least favorite. I’m really not a fan of that song.

Just bought my three day Mish pass. I havent gotten to see the band since before Kris’ surgery. Cant wait to see the boys in full action again with the man back behind the fucking kit! UMPHLOVE FOREVER!!

My prediction is that whoever they decide to replace Kris is going to have a BIG ol beard. Maybe he wears sunglasses all the time too. UM has always set themselves aside in the jamband community for not having a guy with a big bushy beard, and it might be time to find out what effect that might have on their sound.

Nah, the band is nothing without Jake. Yeah he might shred a bit too much at times but without him they will completely fall off IMO.

The Jake/Bayliss dynamic to me is the defining trait of the band. Kris close behind. Jake gets way too much disrespect from some hardcore fans. Yea he does some annoying shit, he’s also a huge part of so many of the good things they accomplished and I very much doubt they would’ve gotten to where they did without him.

Poor Zwang’s name being besmirched up in r/umphreys. Being the one name with its own thread so far will make it hilarious if he’s their next drummer, temporarily or otherwise.

This was pretty much how my friends and i view it as well. The comments yesterday was a lot of “well shit if he wouldnt have joined not a chance in hell we see them more than a few times and therefore we never meet and this chat doesnt exsist”
Jake is really good too but Kris is what pushed them to that next level

100%. Without those two (Jake , Kris) - they lose a TON of horsepower, and honestly UM would not have maintained my level of interest over the last 10 years without those two. Jake is an unbelievable guitarist. Kris is an unbelievable drummer. Losing Kris hurts man. Not saying that they can’t recover. But tough shoes, and it takes years to build the musical continuity that they have on jams etc.
