Kinda excited for whatever new project Myers does. Assuming he’ll be playing a bunch locally in Nashville now that his schedule is free. Or he’ll just be a session guy and I’ll never see him

Whoa! That sucks big time. As a drummer myself - Kris is just a monster. I dont think I ever saw him make a mistake - and some of their stuff is incredibly complex. He was some big time “glue” for the band. In my recent “subpar” review of the Dallas show, Kris was the one thing I called out as a major positive…the dude was giving 110% like always, and honestly nobody else in the band matched his intensity. Very sad to hear this news. I would have believed it more if Jake was leaving, for some reason. He has seemed increasingly unhappy - but purely my opinion.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see who the replacement will be. If Jake’s been unhappy, you have to wonder if the rest of the band will fall apart…or was Jake unhappy with Kris?

Seriously! He was the one bright spot in Dallas. He was on fire and giving 110%…which I can’t say for anyone else that night. Really wonder what’s happened here.
Can’t rule it out. He wasn’t able to play WBG the same again.
On the bright side they’ll have some new material for when they make their 4th career retrospective documentary in a few years

Thats scary as F. UM has had TWO potential monster Firecrackers on a given night - Jake and Kris. One of em is gone now. Stasik is surely solid as hell. Joel is uber talented and underutilized. Farag is great, but not moving the needle for the band musically (no fault of his). That leaves BB. I love the guy - but he needs to get the message that a) the latest songs are not connecting, b) he seems uninspired and it shows and c) UM is not a POP band. Cut the shit with Whistle Kids and The Silent Type and all the other attempts to reinvent the band in the last 5 years with shorter pop songs…and get back to Rocking with some JOY and/or Vibing with some joy. This Myers things PISSES me off. Myers was F’ING BRINGING IT EVERY GIG and you could tell was wanting to ROCK BALLS! Shame shame shame to lose the one guy that was always on fire.
