Has UM's popularity declined?

Only referring to myself not being as interested to see them, and assuming other may feel the same way

haha you were barely interested to begin with, they had to be playing within 30 mins for you to attend for the last decade.

That’s inaccurate, have seen them in Detroit, Chicagoland, Kalamazoo, and Ft Lauderdale since the beginning of 2014.

what if we move it to 7 years?

More accurate particularly if you throw in the couple of pandemic years I didn’t see any shows. I’ve traveled more for Phish than any other band since 2016.

Almost pulled the trigger on Indy a few weeks ago, but ended up not going at the last minute.

Like other UM fans, life has also gotten in the way of traveling to see them. But all of this circles back to me not being as excited about their newer material.

So you just didn’t go

Correct, found out I had to take my daughter somewhere the next morning

Lol, man, you could teach a class: “How to get out of anything - A seminar in idonwanna”

I know we joke here, but this is ridiculously ridiculous.

Yeah the new material slump doesn’t track for me. If anything, when I started looking at UM setlists again after not paying attention for a year I was like “their setlists still look the same as they always have.” Compared to the Biscuits where they’ve written 20 new songs in the past two years. When UM releases a new album then you’ll see a bunch of new songs in the setlists for the next 3-6 months but then it settles into equilibrium and they play at most 2-3 new ones per show, and by then they feel like part of the rotation. I see it as a sign of their stagnation that their sets have changed so little over time.

Am I to deduce you’re big fan of Big Boat, Sigma Oasis, and Evolve?

Popularity down but money up. Who knew the ask on the tequila bottle market was this high??

unpopular opinion, selling things you dont need anymore for a variety of reasons is better than throwing them out

I don’t think they are dawging him because he’s selling stuff online, he’s being dawged because of the implication
