Woodlands has huge potential. I’d much rather go there than Scamp in the future.
Yea, only reason I go every year is because I live an hour away, and up until the Goldbergs screwing over all my friends who worked for the company, never had to pay for it.
I have a hard time thinking any festival UM has potential anymore. Event shows seem pretty hit or miss (RR/NYE/Halloween.) Even the Thursday/Sunday small market rule has been less consistent the last 4-5 years, but that’s still my go to
If I was just an UM fan, yes, but Summer Camp lineups are always great. UM is very rarely the thing I am most excited about for scamp. This year its all about Billy Strings and Ween. Also kinda excited to see STS9 since its been a few years. I also love moe. and it is the only time I see them each yea, and unlike UM, they still have balls and treat the festival like a special event for their die hard fans.
edit: also looking forward to giving Dopapod and Aqueous another chance. Time will tell if I see Spafford. Seeing them in Atlantic City and Tahoe, so not a big priority at SCamp. Super pumped for Three 6 Mafia, as well.
It is the way.
I think I’ve seen 12 Tuesday shows and they usually deliver. Small market weeknights are still my bread and butter when given the choice.
I could see Woodlands expanding and eventually hosting a larger batch of acts. They definitely have the space for it.
not a huge bar to reach by 2021 standards
If they come and don’t die from Covid, I would say a lifetime achievement.
I feel like they haven’t played a show outside of Thursday → Sunday in years (aside from those recent NE pod shows)
Yeah, they’ve only played 21 Tuesday shows in the last 10 years. Only one I’ve seen was summer school 2012
Booked the Holiday Inn for Des Moines.
that’s actually way more than I expected
AQ VIP set would have high expectations from me going into it. It took me forever to hop on board with them, but during Q, they are a band I really enjoy listening to and am itching to see them play again.
6/20/2020 Good Days might be my fave jam from any band last year.
ATL N2 > RRX N2
That might actually not be true. I think ATU might be lying to me…
I’ve always been kinda interested in trying to track what makes bands play “better” from night to night. @cryan024 seems to have it down for Phish. For a band like Pearl Jam, the setlists are consistently more interesting in smaller markets on weekdays.
I feel like it’s significantly harder to track for UM. We still see more rarities at Thursday small market shows, but it’s so much less consistent. I think when they started moving towards more multinight runs we all hoped it would give them time to settle in and loosen up, but have we really seen that?
And it’s not even close imo. The bridgeless was the only interesting thing from RR
I dono, one of my V4J friends told me the Haji was life changing
Mantis is still my fave UM joty
You are So Jaded Brah
